In the 2023 film Exteriors, three gay men each find themselves in modern relationship issues through three separate coincidences.
Wyatt (Christian Gabriel) learns that his best friend Logan is unknowingly falling in love with his ex, while Jason (Julian Goza) is shocked to learn the owner of the pool he’s cleaning is the man he fell in love with over a one-night stand eight years earlier. Finally, therapist Peter Lesh (Peter Stickles) has become dangerously obsessed with his client Lex who tells him he’s just met the man of his dreams. Julian Goza and Jose Fernando in ‘Exteriors’ (Diamond in the Rough Films) Each of the stories are filmed in cinematic styles that speak to the separate narratives – longing stares, tranquil sunsets, and warm couch cuddles. The film is a sequel of sorts to director Mark Schwab’s prior work Brotherly Lies. Exteriors picks up on the lives of three of the main players in Brotherly Lies, though in unrelated storylines to the original. Diogo Hausen and Pano Tsaklas in ‘Exteriors’ (Diamond in the Rough Films) Schwab says the anthology approach was inspired by Ryusuke Hamaguchi’s 2021 Japanese film, Wheel of Fortune and Fantasy, which similarly revolves around three stories rooted in romance and the human experience. Exteriors is currently available on Amazon Prime and Dekkoo.
