Last night, Donald Trump announced he would not allow the Democratic response memo from the House Intelligence Committee to be released.
Trump claimed the “very political” memo contained several classified/sensitive passages of material.
And yet, last week when the FBI and Justice Department raised the same concerns about the Nunes Memo, which Trump claimed “totally vindicated” him, Trump ignored those warnings.
This morning, Trump tweeted that he would consider releasing the Democratic memo if committee members would “re-do and send back in proper form.”
The Democrats sent a very political and long response memo which they knew, because of sources and methods (and more), would have to be heavily redacted, whereupon they would blame the White House for lack of transparency. Told them to re-do and send back in proper form!

Mr. President, what you call “political” are actually called facts, and your concern for sources and methods would be more convincing if you hadn’t decided to release the GOP memo (“100%”) before reading it and over the objections of the FBI. https://t.co/L48kAQOztL

Again, what do the Russians have on you politically, personally and financially that you’re doing Putin’s bidding by hiding the truth from the American people? https://t.co/bexIbk8tPn

I read the #DemocraticMemo and @realDonaldTrump is lying. The memo is:
-Not long (many adults, and teens, routinely read more pages than this memo)
-Not a revelation of sources & methods.

This is yet another situation that is the opposite of what Trump claims it to be. He declassified a selected bit of information and used it to mislead the public and protect himself. Now he’s unwilling to declassify information that would reveal the truth and put himself at risk. https://t.co/udl8S2XfML
