Tim Curry, the iconic star of the cult classic movie musical The Rocky Horror Picture Show, died late Tuesday night at his Los Angeles home at the age of 80.
Curry had been battling serious health issues for several years. In 2012, he suffered a massive stroke which required brain surgery. While promoting his memoir Vagabond last year, he shared he was still unable to walk.

TMZ reports police responded to his house at 11:23 PM Tuesday night. No foul play suspected in the case.
Curry got his start in Hollywood in the late 1960s … before catching his big break in The Rocky Horror Picture Show. While the film was initially dismissed by critics, the film found a second life as a cult classic in the “midnight movie” space.
Luke Evans, who just concluded his run as “Dr. Frank-N-Furter” in the acclaimed Broadway revival of The Rocky Horror Show shared this note he sent Curry just a few weeks ago thanking Curry for “inspiring generations of actors to be a little braver than they thought they could be.”
Fans will also recognize Tim as the hair-raising clown “Pennywise” from the 1990 adaptation of Stephen King’s It and his role as “Mr. Hector” in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.
Additional film credits include Annie, Clue, The Hunt for Red October, Muppet Treasure Island, Addams Family Reunion, and Scary Movie 2.
Widely respected in the acting world, he was honored with 3 Tony Award nominations (Amadeus, My Favorite Year, Monty Python’s Spamalot) as well as an Emmy nom during his lengthy five decade career.
