An anti-vaxxer called into the The Thom Hartmann Show trying push the theory that “staying fit, eating healthy” is a good defense against COVID-19. Hartmann offered one of the best responses to that I’ve heard yet. Hartmann: “So Nicholas, if you’re so healthy would you have unprotected sex with somebody who has syphilis or gonorrhea?” Caller: “You’re missing the point…” Hartmann: “No, I’m not missing the point. They’re contagious diseases. Darwin also clarified that “fittest” equates to most adaptable. In this moment, most adaptable means capable of discerning facts from bs, willing to take a vaccine developed by smarter people, and wearing a mask to prevent spread.
