Virgin America Wants To Know What Bunk You Prefer

Social media folks didn’t quite know what to make of this tweet from Virgin America this past week.

You can read some of the retweets and comments here.

For the record, though, check out the number of retweets and Favorites in the image. Versatile folks were apparently not happy there wasn’t an option for them, although I’m betting many both retweeted and Favorited.

Caitlyn Jenner Sets New World Record To 1 Million Twitter Followers

In a matter of four hours and three minutes, Caitlyn Jenner set the new world record for 1 million Twitter followers in the shortest length of time.

From the Hollywood Reporter:

Barack Obama set the previous record in May with his new account.

Jenner sent her first Tweet Monday morning at 9:17 a.m. PST — a bombshell reveal of her Vanity Fair cover, which contained her new name as well as her first photo following her transition — and reached 1 million followers at approximately 1:20 p.m. PST.

Within her first hour, Jenner had amassed 280,000 followers and the numbers quickly grew from there. “Caitlyn Jenner” began trending on Twitter just minutes after she joined.

American Idol Runner-up David Archuleta Gets In Hot Water Over “Incomplete” Love Tweets

David Archuleta, the runner-up from Season 7 of American Idol, fired off a couple of tweets over the weekend that started a little uproar for the 24 year old singer.

“Romantic love is incomplete. It is a prelude. Love nourished by the coming of children, who spring from the fountain of love expressed between a man and a woman.”

Quoting a speaker from a conference he was attending, the tweets got some fans riled up as he seemed to insinuate that marriage is only between a man and a woman, AND that a marriage without procreation is “incomplete.”

UPDATE: Archuleta has issued an apology on his official website.

I apologize if I have offended anyone with the quote I sent out Saturday. I guess I didn’t think about the line “expressed between a man and a woman in marriage” being stressed when the whole quote didn’t fit in just 1 tweet.

I am sorry my intentions were misunderstood, as my main focus was that too often romance is looked at as the end-all when there is so much more. The bonds that can be there within a family and raising kids, as that is the most valuable thing I have: my family.

I do hope however, that whoever may have been offended may know I respect everyone’s freedom to believe and live as they choose. I hope others can respect what I value most in my life as well. Again, I’m sorry and please forgive me if I offended you. David
