My husband accompanied Olivia Newton-John to NYC for an appearance on The View set to air this Friday.
Other guests the same day are the fab Lynda Carter and Las Vegas headliner and vocal impersonator Veronic.
Of all the trips I DIDN’T tag along on… darn.
The ladies of the THE VIEW were outraged – and rightfully so – over GOP Virginia gubernatorial candidate Ken Cuccinelli’s plan to bring back anti-sodomy laws to his state.
The “crimes against nature” law in Virginia would outlaw any oral or anal sex between two consenting adults, whether heterosexual or gay.
Barbra Walters notes that Cuccinelli seems to equate oral sex with homosexuality which cues Sherri Shepard to admit this makes her “gay as a two dollar bill.”
And Whoopi points out the irony that conservatives always want LESS government in their lives, and yet here’s a self-proclaimed conservative wanting to regulate what happens in citizens bedrooms. Contradiction, contradiction, contradiction…
It’s a fun exchange. Were Elizabeth Hasselbeck still on the panel, it’s easy to picture her stiff and silent. Thank goodness that’s over. Much more fun now 🙂
And our great national nightmare is over.
Elisabeth Hasselbeck, on the heels of the news of her new job beginning this fall co-hosting FOX & FRIENDS, says goodbye to the ladies of THE VIEW.
I may actually watch THE VIEW again now.
The New York Post is reporting that conservative chair warmer for ABC’s THE VIEW will be leaving her long standing job to share the couch with Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade of FOX & FRIENDS.
FOX News Chairman & CEO Roger Ailes announced, “Elisabeth’s warm and engaging personality made her a star on “The View”. She has proven to be an excellent conversationalist and I am certain she will make a great addition to our already successful morning franchise.”
Rumors were running rampant earlier this year that Hasselbeck’s contract at ABC was not going to be renewed.
She replaces current FOX & FRIENDS co-host Gretchen Carlson who will begin hosting her own one-hour daytime show this fall.
Jenny McCarthy and Brooke Shields have been mentioned as possible replacements for Hasselbeck.
After wishing Joy Behar the best as she will be leaving The View after 16 years, Barbara Walters also took the time to dispel recent rumors that Elisabeth Hasselbeck would also be leaving the show due to her conservative political views.
Hot on the heels of Joy Behar’s announcement she’ll be leaving The View comes rumors that the TV audience has grown weary of Elizabeth Hasselbeck’s “views:”
US Weekly reports:
“The viewers they polled all said she was too extreme and right wing,” the insider tells Us. “People did not watch the show because of Elisabeth. So they told her yesterday her contract would not be renewed.”
Meanwhile, rumors are swirling that Brooke Shields may be in line for a spot at the table. I personally see that as a very good fit.

Valentine’s Day comes early for the hosts of ABC’s “The View” on Friday, February 8, 2013, when Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Sherri Shepherd (and special guest co-host Rick Springfield) get a special surprise visit from the Chippendales dancers from the Rio in Las Vegas.
During a Valentine’s Day cocktail segment Chippendales Jaymes Vaughan and James Davis (who took 2nd place on ‘The Amazing Race’), Jon Howes, Chaun Thomas and Sami Eskelin served a variety of romantic alcoholic beverages.
Whipped cream chaos ensued when a tray of drinks spilled on Chippendale Jon Howes resulting in host Sherri Shepherd yelling “take ‘em off, take ‘em O-F-F!”

President Barack Obama, appearing on ABC’s “The View,” spoke about his position on gay marriage and how he views the anti-gay Defense of Marriage Act.
“Congress is clearly on notice that I think it’s a bad idea,” Obama said regarding DOMA during “The View” interview, which was recorded Monday morning.
Later in the day, at a New York City fundraising event hosted by Ricky Martin, Obama said he believes marriage equality “strengthens families,” and said the 2012 election would be about values — including “repealing DOMA.”
It’s been said that this election is going to be about values, and I absolutely agree. It’s about the economic values we have, about the values that I believe are what makes America so special — the idea that everybody gets a fair shot, everybody does their fair share, everybody plays by the same set of rules.
So everything we do — from Wall Street reform, making sure that banks aren’t taking risks with other people’s money that taxpayers may have to end up bailing out later, to repealing DOMA, to getting the DREAM Act passed, to investing in our schools, to rebuilding manufacturing in America — all of these things are designed to make sure that we’re restoring middle-class security for all those folks out there that are struggling for their small portion of the American Dream.
During the The View, Elizabeth Hasselbeck questioned President Obama about whether there were any real differences between the President’s position and Mitt Romney. He answered:
Whoopi goes OFF! With the rest of the ladies right behind her.
I love Joy chiming in that without porn, women are going to have to start sleeping with their husbands…
