Major broadcast company planning to drop Hannity and Limbaugh

In a major shakeup for the radio industry, Cumulus Media, the second-biggest broadcaster in the country, is planning to drop both Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity from its stations at the end of the year, an industry source told POLITICO on Sunday.

Cumulus has decided that it will not renew its contracts with either host, the source said, a move that would remove the two most highly rated conservative talk personalities from more than 40 Cumulus channels in major markets.

Rush Limbaugh worries Cleveland kidnap victims might get welfare

Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

OMG. Seriously? Sadly, yes. Seriously.

Check out the video of Rush Limbaugh finding that ever elusive connection between the Cleveland kidnapping victims and President Obama.

From MSNBC:

Turns out a certain episode of the CBS series Hawaii Five-O got Rush Limbaugh thinking about a political spin to the Cleveland kidnappings. What if the suspects carried out the kidnappings in order to qualify for welfare benefits and tax exemptions, as was the case in the television show?

“Now I don’t know what happened in Cleveland, but I couldn’t help but make the connection,” Limbaugh explained.

“Three brothers, but not related the three women, have been arrested in Cleveland,” he continued before dropping the possibility that they voted for President Obama. The city, he pointed out, voted for Obama.

Limbaugh admits that he doesn’t have the facts on the case before launching into the explanation that the abductions are somehow related to welfare benefits and sarcastically suggesting that the suspects are likely Obama voters. He pointed out one of the victim’s had a baby.

“Double welfare benefits if one of the women has a baby,” Limbaugh declared.

More proof that Rush Limbaugh is either a liar or an idiot

In the last election cycle alone, Maryland, Maine and Washington state all passed same-sex marriage by popular vote of those states’ citizens.

Rush Limbaugh knows this. But it makes him feel better to lie to his listeners and say the issue has lost every time when it has not.

Last week, a new Post-ABC News poll revealed 58 percent support for marriage equality.

“So same-sex marriage and wiping out the Defense of Marriage Act is now a civil right. People that oppose it are bigots and nobody wants to be a bigot.  But the thing you can’t say is that if left to a vote of the people, same-sex marriage loses every time it’s on the ballot.  I think so far it’s 30 times.  State ballots, initiatives and other things, and the Defense of Marriage Act at the federal level.  It’s never passed.

You wouldn’t know that, would you, by listening to the pop culture media?  You would think that this issue has overtaken everything, it’s the most important issue to everybody and anybody, and that it has massive public support.  And yet every time it’s been voted on by the people it has gone down to defeat.  That’s why the courts have to get involved, because the people, according to the left, won’t do the right thing.” – Rush Limbaugh, speaking on yesterday’s radio show.

142 Advertisers have now dropped Rush Limbaugh Show

ThinkProgress has obtained an internal memo from Premiere Radio Networks listing 96 national companies that have “specifically asked” their advertisments not be played during the Rush Limbaugh Show.

Premiere is the distributor of Limbaugh’s program. The advertisers have also requested to be excluded from other right-wing hosts including Michael Savage, Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity. According to the memo, the listed companies’ advertisements should be excluded from these programs because they have been “deemed to be offensive.”

Rush Limbaugh on Oreos and Obama

Rush Limbaugh on the new Oreo cookie and President Obama: “Kraft foods is going to launch a new Oreo … It’s a Triple Double Oreo. Do you like Oreos, is that? Well, it, what it’s going to be here, it’s actually a biracial cookie. You’ve got three of the chocolate wafers, and then you’ve got the white vanilla cream, the cream, and then there’s a chocolate cream. So you’ve got, you’ve got three — the stuff, the thing that says Oreo on it, the wafer. And then you’ve got the white cream, then you’ve got another chocolate wafer, then you’ve got the chocolate cream, and then you’ve got the bottom wafer. The Triple Double Oreo. You wait, it isn’t going to be long before it’s called the Or-Bam-eo, or something like this. Well, it’s a biracial cookie, here … In the midst of all this talk of obesity. And, I mean, every time Michelle Obama goes out there and talks about healthful eating, the food industry responds with, ‘Oh, yeah? Take this.’ And Kraft comes up with the Or-Bam-eo, the triple double-dipper.”

There is no way that Rush Limbaugh is ignorant of the racial slur “Oreo,” which refers to a black person who “acts white” or is white on the inside. Is this a pointed comment at President Obama being an “Oreo”?
