President Obama’s Remarks On The Outcome Of The Presidential Election

President Obama’s remarks on the outcome of the presidential election.

Obama congratulates president-elect Donald Trump, and has invited him to meet at the White House on Thursday to begin conversations that will ensure a peaceful transfer of power.

We are all rooting for his success in leading and uniting the country.”

Press secretary Josh Earnest said in a statement that the president called both Trump and Hillary Clinton following the results of the election early Wednesday.

Bill Maher Finally Gets His Interview With President Obama

President Barack Obama sits down with Bill Maher on the eve of the election to discuss the issues HBO’s “Real Time” viewers care about.

From ABC News:

The interview was wide-ranging, with the pair discussing the election, the popularity of Donald Trump, and issues including Obamacare, immigration reform, the legalization of marijuana and climate change.

Obama, who said the decision who to vote for Tuesday “should be really clear” (read: Hillary Clinton), didn’t mince words about disenfranchised voters. “Anyone who sits on the sidelines or makes a protest vote is a vote for Trump,” Obama said, “and that would be badly damaging to this country, and damaging for the world.”

The president continued, “The stakes are high. The choice in this election should be really clear. Every single issue we’ve made progress on in the last eight years is going to be on the ballot.”

President Obama On Comey Announcement: We Don’t Operate On Innuendo, Incomplete Facts Or Leaks

In a radio interview with NowThisNews, President Obama made his first comments after FBI Director James Comey made the unusual announcement that new emails possibly related to its investigation of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton had been found on a laptop computer used by Clinton aide Huma Abedin.

“I do think that there is a norm that when there are investigations we don’t operate on innuendo and we don’t operate on incomplete information and we don’t operate on leaks,” Obama said during the radio interview.

Comey was noticeably vague on whether the emails were significant to the investigation or not. At the time, neither he nor his agents had obtained a search warrant to examine the emails even though the FBI knew of the emails for weeks.

Comey’s departure from normal FBI protocol in announcing the finding roiled the presidential campaign 11 days before the Nov. 8 election and drew heavy criticism from Democrats.

President Obama Burns Trump Reading “Mean Tweet”

This has to go down as one of the “Top Ten Moments” of this election cycle.

As President Obama returns to Jimmy Kimmel’s show for another round of “Presidential Mean Tweets” where he reads negative tweets about himself, Obama delivers a mic-drop worthy response to one tweet in particular from a certain orange hued critic.

Catch the long stare into the camera after his response.

President Obama To Donald Trump: “Stop Whining”

President Obama had a “mic drop” moment today during a press conference at the White House when asked about Donald Trump’s “rigged election” comments.

Obama suggested that Trump’s “whining” indicates he doesn’t “have what it takes” to be president.

Via ABC News:

“I have never seen in my lifetime or in modern political history any presidential candidate trying to discredit the elections and the election process before votes have even taken place. It’s unprecedented. It happens to be based on no facts,” the president said during a joint news conference at the White House with Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi.

“If you start whining before the game’s even over? If whenever things are going badly for you and you lose, you start blaming somebody else, then you don’t have what it takes to be in this job,” the president said, pointing towards the Oval Office behind him. “I’d advise Mr. Trump to stop whining and go try to make his case to get votes.” The president added that if Trump does end up winning the election, he would welcome him as the next president.

“If he got the most votes then it would be my expectation of Hillary Clinton to offer a gracious concession speech and pledge to work with him in order to make sure the American people benefit from an American government, and it would be my job to welcome Mr. Trump, regardless of what he said about me or my differences with him on my opinions and escort him over to the capitol in which there would be a peaceful transfer of power,” Obama said.

Video Of The Day: “Thanks Obama!”

While stumping for Hillary Clinton in Philadelphia today, President Obama was reminded by a rally attendee that gas is currently $2 a gallon.

His reaction was very funny 🙂

President Obama: Donald Trump Is “Unfit To Serve As President”

Without equivocation, President Obama told reporters at a White House news conference that Republican candidate Donald Trump is “unfit to serve as president” and Republican party leaders should withdraw their endorsements of his candidacy.

“The question they have to ask themselves is: If you are repeatedly having to say in very strong terms that what he has said is unacceptable, why are you still endorsing him?”

The President’s comments follow in the wake of Trump’s ongoing debacle with criticizing the parents of a fallen Muslim-American Army Captain. Trump has been unable to let the story go, and so it keeps living for another day in the news cycle.

Hey Donald – lose the thin skin, and leave the Gold Star family be. You only dig your hole deeper and deeper every time you take a swipe at the Khan family. And you have bigger fish to fry at this point.

President Obama Brings Down The House On Night 3 Of Democratic National Convention 2016

Enjoying extremely high approval ratings in his party, and with his national approval over 50%, President Obama made his fourth Democratic National Convention speech last night to take a bit of a victory lap for his successful 8 years in the White House and to make the case that America needs Hillary Clinton to continue the progress.

It was a speech filled with many highlights – here are just a few.

About Hillary Clinton:

• “While this nation has been tested by war, and it’s been tested by recession and all manner of challenges, I stand before you again tonight after almost two terms as your president to tell you I am more optimistic about the future of America than ever before.”

• “I can say with confidence there has never been a man or a woman more qualified than Hillary Clinton to serve as president of the United States of America.”

• “If you’re serious about our democracy, you can’t afford to stay home just because she might not align with you on every issue. You’ve got to get in the arena with her, because democracy isn’t a spectator sport. America isn’t about ‘yes he will.’ It’s about ‘yes we can.'”

There wasn’t a lot about Republican opponent Donald Trump, but here’s a bit of Obama on the Trumpster:

• “Does anyone really believe that a guy who’s spent his 70 years on this Earth showing no regard for working people is suddenly going to be your champion? Your voice? If so, you should vote for him.”

• “He calls himself a business guy, which is true, but I have to say, I know plenty of businessmen and women who’ve achieved success without leaving a trail of lawsuits, and unpaid workers, and people feeling like they got cheated.”

It was a truly great speech. Well worth the watching. Check out the full speech below.
