Campaign ad: President Obama’s plan for next 4 years

President Obama released a new ad shortly after last night’s debate appealing directly to voters and asking them to compare his plan for America to that of Mitt Romney’s.

The ad will run in New Hampshire, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Colorado.

Here’s the text of the ad:

“There’s just no quit in America and you’re seeing that right now. Over five million new jobs, exports up forty one percent, home values rising, our auto industry back and our heroes are coming home.

We’re not there yet. But we’ve made real progress and the last thing we should do is turn back now.

Here’s my plan for the next four years: Making education and training a national priority; building on our manufacturing boom; boosting American-made energy; reducing the deficits responsibly by cutting where we can, and asking the wealthy to pay a little more. And ending the war in Afghanistan, so we can do some nation-building here at home. That’s the right path.

So read my plan, compare it to Governor Romney’s and decide which is better for you. It’s an honor to be your President and I’m asking for your vote. So together we can keep moving America forward.”

President Obama wins in a landslide with kids across USA

President Obama wins in a landslide with kids across the country.

Nickelodeon’s Linda Ellerbee said Monday that the president captured 65 percent of the vote to beat Republican Mitt Romney in the network’s “Kids Pick the President” vote. More than 520,000 people cast online ballots through the children’s network’s website over one week earlier this month.

Since it began in 1988, the kids have forecast the adults’ vote all but once, when more youngsters voted for John Kerry over George W. Bush in 2004.  That year hinged on the close votes in one state: Ohio.

Obama answered questions submitted by Nickelodeon viewers for a special earlier this month. Romney didn’t participate.

Campaign ad: “Rebuilding”

I could not agree with this ad more.

Not only did the President get us out of Iraq and is currently getting us out of Afghanistan, but he got the man who planned the 9/11 attacks.

Regarding Osama bin Laden, Mitt Romney said “It’s not worth moving heaven and Earth and spending billions of dollars just trying to catch one person.”

Romney also floated the idea of using a voucher system to help veterans get health care.

No.  Not good enough for our veterans.

Clear choice here, kids.

President Obama and Mitt Romney tied in new NBC poll

President Barack Obama and Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney are tied nationally, according to a new poll from NBC News and the Wall Street Journal.

Obama and Romney are tied at 47 percent amongst likely voters, and Obama leads 49 percent to Romney’s 44 percent among registered voters.

Campaign ad: “Made In Ohio”

Mitt Romney famously advocated letting the auto industry go bankrupt. President Obama led the charge to save the auto industry.

In Ohio, 1 out of 8 jobs is connected to the auto industry.

Mitt Romney now says what he “meant” was that the auto corporations should have gone through bankruptcy proceedings and let private industry money come in and save them. The problem is: no one with that amount of money was willing to step up to the plate.

President Obama made the right call, saved thousands of jobs, and the US auto industry is again on top.

We have a clear choice this election.

The guy who saved the auto industry, got us our of Iraq, is ending the war in Afghanistan, got Osama bin Laden, repealed Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, and whose policies helped lead the stock market to almost double in four years and saw new home building starts jump 15% last month.

Is this hard to figure out, America?

p.s. that was not a trick question.

President Obama on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart

President Obama got a huge cheer from the audience in the first five minutes of his interview on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart over his support for LGBT rights.

“You want a president in the Oval Office whose going to say, ‘No, we’re not going to amend the Constitution for the first time to restrict rights for gay and lesbian couples,” Obama said, earning a big round of applause that interrupted his list of contrasts with Mitt Romney.

Obama said his record is “a strong story to tell,” especially on “social issues like ‘don’t ask, don’t tell.'”

FOX News Poll: President Obama leads Romney in Ohio 46%-43%

All I gotta say: FOX News Poll!

Fox News poll has the President up over Mittens 46%-43% in Ohio. I keep saying “watch Ohio.”

AND – by a margin of 45%-40% Ohioans feel the economy is getting better.

AND – President Obama’s favorable numbers vs unfavorable numbers: 53%-41%
Mitt Romney’s favorable numbers vs unfavorable numbers: 48%-46%

This is not good news for Mitt Romney.

Do the math, kids…

Salt Lake Tribune endorses President Obama

From the Salt Lake Tribune:

From his embrace of the party’s radical right wing, to subsequent portrayals of himself as a moderate champion of the middle class, Romney has raised the most frequently asked question of the campaign: “Who is this guy, really, and what in the world does he truly believe?” The evidence suggests no clear answer, or at least one that would survive Romney’s next speech or sound bite. Politicians routinely tailor their words to suit an audience. Romney, though, is shameless, lavishing vastly diverse audiences with words, any words, they would trade their votes to hear.[snip]

In considering which candidate to endorse, The Salt Lake Tribune editorial board had hoped that Romney would exhibit the same talents for organization, pragmatic problem-solving and inspired leadership that he displayed here more than a decade ago. Instead, we have watched him morph into a friend of the far right, then tack toward the center with breathtaking aplomb. Through a pair of presidential debates, Romney’s domestic agenda remains bereft of detail and worthy of mistrust.

Therefore, our endorsement must go to the incumbent, a competent leader who, against tough odds, has guided the country through catastrophe and set a course that, while rocky, is pointing toward a brighter day. The president has earned a second term. Romney, in whatever guise, does not deserve a first.
