Bryan Fischer: President Obama wants to take guns away from evangelical Christians
Ok, it’s officially the “Day of Nutty News” I’ve decided.
If the videos of the bigots from “Stand with Scouts Sunday” weren’t enough today, we get news that consistent asshat Bryan Fischer of the misleadingly named “American Family Association” (they don’t really represent ALL families – like LGBT families) has announced that President Obama wants to disarm Christian gun owners:
American Family Association spokesman Bryan Fischer is convinced that President Obama’s pledge to “keep guns out of the hands of dangerous people,” a remark he made while speaking in Mexico City, is actually a veiled attempt to lay the groundwork to forcibly “disarm people of the Christian faith.”
Fischer said that Obama is “setting up the stage to take guns away from evangelicals” and classify them as terrorists: “‘You believe in Jesus Christ?’ ‘Yes I certainly do sir.’ ‘Give me your gun, we’re coming into your house and taking your guns, you’re dangerous, you’re a threat you’re an extremist, you’re a terrorist threat, we can’t let you have a gun.’”
I think this is all a contest between who can make the most false accusation before sun down.
SRSLY.
Satirical tweet of the day
Seriously, folks. I say it over and over, but this clearly makes President Obama the WORST “socialist” in the history of the concept. Actually, isn’t this the opposite of “socialism?”
Wall Street is soaring, 38th straight month of positive job growth, unemployment dropping – what are the GOPers going to have left to complain about?
President Obama announces clear support for LGBT inclusive immigration reform
At a press conference in Costa Rica last night, President Obama announced that he supports LGBT-inclusive immigration reform because it’s “the right thing to do” but admitted he was uncertain about what might happen with the provision.
Said Obama:
“And so Senator Leahy may present this provision in committee, it may be presented on the floor. It will be one of many amendments and provisions, some of which I support. Some of which I think are really bad ideas…
“I can tell you I think that the provision is the right thing to do. I’ll also tell you that I’m not going to get everything I want in this bill. Republicans are not going to get everything they want in this bill.”

President Obama calls Jason Collins, praises his courage to come “out”
President Obama called NBA center Jason Collins today after news broke that the pro basketball player had come out of the closet.
From Raw Story:
President Barack Obama called NBA player Jason Collins on Monday to praise his courage after he became the first star in big-time American professional team sports to come out as gay.
Collins, currently a free agent who has played for six teams over 12 seasons, made the announcement in a blockbuster article in Sports Illustrated. “The President called Jason Collins to express his support and said he was impressed by his courage,” said a White House aide, on condition of anonymity.
President Obama jokes at the 2013 White House Correspondents Dinner
Some of President Obama’s one liners at the White House Correspondent’s dinner:
• I’m not the strapping young muslim socialist like I used to be.
• I admire the DC press corps covering all sides of an issue, just in case one of them happens to be accurate
• I’m taking my charm offensive on the road… a book burning with Michele Bachmann
• Some have suggested we put my library in my birthplace, but I’d rather keep it in the US.
I love this tradition, and I like that he can make fun of himself.

Suspect arrested in connection to poison mailings to Obama, Wicker
A suspect has been arrested over the mailing of letters laced with the deadly poison ricin to President Obama and Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS), NBC News reports:
The suspect was identified as Kenneth Curtis of Tupelo, Miss., federal officials told NBC News.
According an the FBI bulletin obtained by NBC News, both letters, postmarked April 8, 2013 out of Memphis, Tenn., included an identical phrase, “to see a wrong and not expose it, is to become a silent partner to its continuance.”
In addition, both letters are signed: “I am KC and I approve this message.”
President Obama: “the American people refuse to be terrorized”
President Obama gave a briefing to press at the White House this morning in which he said that it is not yet known if a group or individual is behind the attacks on the Boston Marathon. He did call the Boston bombing an act of terror today, less than 24 hours after the explosions.
Said Obama: “This was a heinous and cowardly act, and, given what we now know about what took place, the FBI is investigating it as an act of terrorism…We will find whoever harmed our citizens, and we will bring them to justice. We also know this: the American people refuse to be terrorized. Because what we saw in the aftermath of the explosions were stories of heroism and kindness and generosity and love.”
Also in President Obama’s comments, he praised our first responders:
“If you want to know who we are, what America is, how we respond to evil – this is it: selflessly, compassionately, unafraid.”
