Maryland Sen. Mikulski Becomes 34th Vote For President Obama’s Iran/Nuclear Agreement

With the announcement by Democratic Sen. Barbara Mikulski of Maryland, who says she will be the 34th U.S. Senator to vote for President Obama’s Iran/Nuclear deal, Obama gets his foreign policy legacy.

From Huffington Post:

Under the deal, Iran would be subjected to comprehensive inspections on its nuclear program and forced to reduce current uranium stockpiles and the number of its centrifuges. In exchange, it will be granted sanctions relief estimated to be anywhere between $50 billion and $150 billion. But the deal phases out between years 10 and 15, albeit with Iran still forced to provide some access for inspections for another 10 years thereafter. And even for supporters of the initiative, concerns remain about the possibilities of a quick military breakout once restrictions ease.

Faced with this pushback, the administration has implored lawmakers to consider the alternative, in which no restrictions are placed on Iran and the world community is unwilling to rework the accord. A briefing between ambassadors and officials from the other countries party to the deal — in which they articulated their reluctance to head back to the negotiating table — was highly persuasive to several Democratic senators.

Almost every current GOP candidate for president has said they would kill the agreement upon being sworn into office.

Whether such statements can become a reality as so simply stated are another matter. Reneging on an international agreement involving several nations could be more politically complex than tossing out a stump speech.

Democratic leaders say they are still working towards 40 votes in favor of the deal to help keep a resolution of disapproval from getting a vote.

Let’s Play “Born In The USA”

A recent Public Policy Poll shows that 40% of Republicans believe GOP White House hopeful Sen. Ted Cruz was born in the United States, and only 29% believe that Obama was.

For the record:

President Obama was born in Hawaii.

Sen. Ted Cruz was born in Calgary, Alberta. That would be Canada.

This tells us a LOT about the low-information Tea Party conservatives.

Hate Group Leader: Obama Is Setting Up A Way For Courts To Legalize Prostitution

Bryan Fischer

Hate group leader Bryan Fischer hypothesizes (in his cyncial, bizarro world logic) that the real reason for the raid on the corporate offices of Rentboy is to set up a complex set of events that would lead to President Obama fighting for legalizing prostitution.

So the question naturally is why. Why would Obama suddenly bring the hammer down on homosexual prostitution?

Maybe, in the wake of the Ashley Madison hack, he wants to get all the client information from this website in federal custody to protect the identities of his political and social friends who may be customers.

Or Obama believes, with homosexuality being the flavor of the year in the world of sexual abnormality, this is the moment to haul homosexual prostitutes into court and get some federal judge somewhere to rule that prostitution cannot be made illegal under the United States Constitution.

With no prayer of getting a bill legalizing prostitution through Congress, his best hope is the court system.

And his best chance to get the favorable ruling he wants, given the current cultural zeitgeist, is if the defendants in courts are homosexual prostitutes rather than heterosexual ones. What politically correct judge today would dare to rule against the sin of sodomy anywhere at anytime?

In other words, Obama is pursuing this action not because he wants to punish homosexual prostitutes but because he wants the Supreme Court to exonerate them.

Obama knows that this action will be challenged in court, and that when the appeal makes it to the Supreme Court, he can count on the Court’s five homosexual activists to rule that laws against money for sex are antiquated, outmoded, and so 18th century.

And poof, the last vestige of moral standards with regard to adult sexuality will be gone.

In other words, Bryan Fischer has now completely lost his mind.

President Obama: Homophobia & Racism Come From The Same Poisonous Mindset

Speaking at the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Washington Fellowship Presidential Summit this week, President Obama said that he believes homophobia and racism come from the same poisonous mindset.

“The notion that any African would discriminate against somebody because of the color of their skin, after what black people around the world have gone through, is crazy. It is infuriating and I have no patience for it.

“The same, by the way, is true for sexual orientation. I spoke about this in Africa, and everybody is like, oh, oh, we don’t want to hear that. But the truth of the matter is, is that if you’re treating people differently just because of who they love and who they are, then there’s a connection between that mindset and the mindset that led to racism, and the mindset that leads to ethnic conflict. It means that you’re not able to see somebody else as a human being.”

Donald Trump: Obama Has Done Nothing For Blacks, I Will Win The Minority Vote

Appearing on ABC News’ This Week, Donald Trump said President Obama has done “nothing” for African-Americans, and he predicts he will carry the black vote in the upcoming 2016 presidential election.

Via Raw Story:

“He has set a very low bar and I think it’s a shame for the African-American people,” Trump told ABC’s Jonathan Karl. “And by the way, he has done nothing for African-Americans. You look at what’s going on, at their income levels, you look at what’s gone on with their youth.”

“I thought that the would be a great cheerleader for this country, I thought he would do a fabulous job for the African-American citizens of this country.”

“He has done nothing,” Trump insisted. “They are worse than just about ever, they have problems now in terms of unemployment numbers… Here you have a black president who has done very poorly for the African-Americans in this country.”

The billionaire candidate concluded with a prediction: “I think I will win the black vote, I think I will win the Hispanic vote.”

President Obama Slaps Back At Mike Huckabee Over Iran/Israel Comments

Speaking at a press conference in Ethiopia, President Obama slapped back at current GOP presidential hopefuls who have taken to making “ridiculous” claims about his policies, and “outrageous attacks” that were unbecoming to presidential politics.

The president was asked about Mike Huckabee’s assertion yesterday that the nuclear deal currently under consideration with Iran would “take the Israelis and march them to the door of the oven.”

via Mike Huckabee Twitter

Addressing the question, Obama tied Huckabee’s comments to other Republican 2016 nominees:

“The particular comments of Mr. Huckabee are just part of a general pattern we’ve seen that would be considered ridiculous if it weren’t so sad. We’ve had a sitting senator call John Kerry Pontius Pilate. We’ve had a sitting senator, who also happens to be running for president, suggest that I’m the leading state sponsor of terrorism. These are leaders in the Republican Party.”

Obama later said the comments by Huckabee might be an attempt at getting some attention for his languishing presidential campaign: “Maybe this is just an effort to push Mr. Trump out of the headlines.”

The president summed up the current political environment like this:

“The Republican Party is shocked, and yet that arises out of a culture where those kinds of outrageous attacks have become far too commonplace and get circulated nonstop through the Internet and talk radio and news outlets. And I recognize that when outrageous statements are made about me, a lot of the same people who were outraged when it’s made about Mr. McCain were pretty quiet.”

“The American people deserve better. Certainly presidential debates deserve better. In 18 months, I’m turning over the keys. I want to make sure I’m turning over the keys to somebody who’s serious about the serious problems the country faces and the world faces.”

President Obama Publicly Disagrees With Kenyan President On LGBT Rights

President Obama, currently in Kenya, publicly disagreed with Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta at a press conference on the issue of LGBT rights.

Kenyatta called gay rights in his country a “non-issue.”

Obama had another opinion.

“If somebody is a law-abiding citizen who is going about their business, and working in a job, and obeying the traffic signs, and doing all the other things that good citizens are supposed to do and not harming anybody – the idea that they are going to be treated differently or abused because of who they love is wrong.”

“The idea that somebody is going to be treated differently because of who they love is wrong. Full stop.”

Afterward, President Kenyatta said, “There are some things that we must agree we don’t share. Our culture, our societies don’t accept [homosexuality].”

It is currently illegal to be gay in Kenya, and punishable with a maximum imprisonment of 14 years. Kenyan leaders had requested that President Obama not to discuss gay rights on his first trip to the country.

Obama To Jon Stewart: “I Can’t Believe You’re Leaving Before Me”

Making his last appearance on The Daily Show, President Obama joked with Jon Stewart, “I can’t believe you’re leaving before me. I’m going to issue an executive order: Jon Stewart cannot leave the show. It’s being challenged in the courts.”

The two then moved on to talk on several topics including the nuclear proposal with Iran, Donald Trump and more. Obama indicated he still plans to address fuel-energy standards and climate change in his remaining time in office.
