New Music: Martin Garrix & Bebe Rexha “In The Name Of Love”

Add this to your weekend party mix.

Electronic dance music’s youngest and fastest rising dj/musician/songwriter/producer Martin Garrix releases a brand new single “In The Name of Love” featuring singer/songwriter Bebe Rexha.

The 20 year old switches thing up combining piano, bass, and guitar strums in place of drums for much of the track to provide percussion, but don’t worry – when that massive drop kicks in, Garrix delivers that EDM euphoria.

This new single comes on the heels of Garrix’s announcement earlier this week that he has signed with RCA in the US and Sony Music international worldwide.

New Music: Clean Bandit “Tears” Featuring Louisa Johnson

Grammy Award-winning quartet Clean Bandit, known for combining classical technique with pop music, makes a run at Song of the Summer with new single, “Tears.”

The track features vocals from the UK’s 2015 X Factor winner Louisa Johnson, and hasn’t left iTunes’ UK Top 5 chart and the UK’s Top 10 Official Singles Chart for six consecutive weeks.

The music video for ‘Tears’ is directed by band member and creative force, Jack Patterson. Incorporating fire, water and slow motion, the video even features a cameo from the owl that played Hedwig in the Harry Potter movies!

From Patterson: “We always make our own videos, and this one has been an amazing experience. There are zero special effects and we did everything in front of the camera. As you’ll see, there’s a lot of water and fire and even a special guest cameo from the Harry Potter owl, Hedwig! The video conveys the fire you need to find within yourself in order to part from a person you love.”

The band’s violinist, openly gay Neil Amin-Smith, was in a high-profile relationship with Years & Years’ Olly Alexander that ended last year.

New Music: Gabrielle Ross “Love Is Love”

Gabrielle Ross

I’ve been looking for new music to share this week. I like this.

Earlier this week, New York-based artist Gabrielle Ross premiered her captivating new single “Love is Love.”

The record is an upbeat ode to love and everything it stands for. “Love is Love” is coming off the heels of Gabrielle’s wildly successful single “#MCM” featuring Jeremih.

Her highly anticipated EP, Things Are Gonna Change, is set to drop late this summer.

In the wake of this week’s deadly shooting in Orlando, Gabrielle hopes to send a message a love and inspiration with this uplifting track:

“I was going to wait for my EP release to share my song “Love Is Love.” However, given all of the crisis going on in this crazy world we live in, we all certainly need hope and strength now more than ever. Music is one of the only things we all have in common. It’s the universal language that gets us through the most devastating times in life. Always, but especially now, we all must stick together and support one another. Embrace each other’s differences because that is what makes life #beYOUtiful. How boring would it be if we were all the same? Great minds DON’T think alike. “Love Is Love” promotes unity, hope, equality, and diversity. I hope that it brings a smile to your face and comfort to your heart as it has mine. My love, thoughts, prayers, and deepest condolences go out to all those effected by the Orlando attack.” Gabrielle Ross

New Music Video: Pink “Just Like Fire”

Pink drops her new song “Just Like Fire” from the soundtrack of the upcoming Alice Through the Looking Glass, and it’s a high-flying, visually vibrant tea party.

NewNowNext recaps the music video:

The artist displays her impressive aerial silk skills, plays a riveting game of human chess and drinks tea with the Mad Hatter, all while singing about the importance of loving and accepting one’s self fully, even if others think you’re mad.

In typical Pink fashion, the video is energetic and thrilling, especially when her husband, played by real life hubby Carey Hart, decides it’s time to send her off to an institution after her own special trip through the looking glass.

New Music: ABC “Viva Love”

ABC drops it’s first single “Viva Love” from the upcoming The Lexicon of Love II.

Love it – very “80s/Spandau Ballet” feel to this 🙂

The first Lexicon of Love album, released 34 years ago, reached number 1 in the UK, 9 in Australia and 24 in the USA.

The album also generated three hit songs “Poison Arrow,” “The Look of Love” and “All Of My Heart.”

Music Video: Troye Sivan “Youth”

Aussie YouTube sensation Troye Sivan drops his new music video, “Youth,” from his album Blue Neighbourhood.

My first thought was perhaps the song would be a bit “young-ish” for me, but I like the medium vibe and the anthemic chorus.

Oh, and the pretty colors.

Via MTV:

The vid takes us inside a hazy, neon-washed house party where alcohol, sex, and tongue piercings are all the rage. But there are moments of quiet intimacy, too, and nods to… well… youth: light-up sneakers, Care Bears and blanket forts all make an appearance. It ultimately feels like a marriage of maturity and recklessness, as Troye sings about loving too hard and not really caring about the consequences.

New Music: Olivia Newton-John, Beth Nielsen Chapman & Amy Sky “LIV ON”

Via press release:

International superstar and multiple Grammy Award-winner Olivia Newton-John, Grammy nominee Beth Nielsen Chapman and SOCAN Award-winner Amy Sky are lending their vocal and songwriting talents to create “LIV ON,” a collaborative, newly recorded eleven-song collection intended for those who wish to transcend loss while walking a journey toward new-found meaning and hope.

This inspiring new project grew out of the three artists’ personal experiences with loss and illness, which they all survived to “LIV ON” and celebrate each day with a depth of gratitude. This labor of love stemmed from the trio sharing their stories together and expressing their deepest feelings from the most difficult to the most celebratory. It’s the hope that this music can uplift hearts burdened by grief while at the same time bring comfort to the listener.

“As a group, it’s our intention with this album to create songs with a message of compassion and hope,” said Newton-John. “They are for anyone facing a time of challenge in their life, whether it is grieving a loss – or on the journey to health and recovery.”

“LIV ON” – means “to thrive, to have hope and to remember.” The message is clear in the lyrics of the album’s title song:

Live on, Live on
Brighter skies will come again
Cry the tears you cry
And then live on, live on
Love is all we leave when we are gone…Live on

With songs such as “Don’t Know What To Say,” “My Heart Goes Out to You,” “Immortality,” and “Stone In My Pocket,” the lyrics express different phases of the delicate recovery process while validating the experience so the listener can heal once again and soar. In addition, each artist revisits songs that have brought love and light to many of their fans. The album includes new interpretations of “Grace and Gratitude” (Newton-John), “Sand and Water” (Nielsen Chapman) and “I Will Take Care of You” (Sky).

“LIV ON” will be available on Friday, June 10, 2016.
