This really drew me in. The longer I watched, the more fascinating it became.
And my dear Marni Nixon is of course sprinkled throughout.
Michael and I saw the first screening of “War Horse” in Las Vegas today.
I’m wiped out. Terrific Spielberg movie – love of animals, themes of loyalty and promises kept, overcoming incredible odds – I’m emotionally done.
If you can, make sure you see this. Not only great story telling, but the score of the film is fantastic.
Here’s a link to Fandango where you can find where it’s playing in your area.

This past summer was quite the season for super-hero adventure movies.
Looking back, I forgot how much I enjoyed THOR with Chris Hemsworth. Whatever the movie making magic used that created Asgard, the world of the gods, was – it was gorgeous. As was Chris Hemsworth.
I’m looking forward to seeing how bringing all the Marvel characters together for AVENGERS works out. It could be great, or it could be a difficult thing to balance all those characters well. We’ll have to see.
If you missed THOR, you can see more about it here. I liked it. Nice distraction from a busy day.
And you can see more of Chris Hemsworth below. 🙂

Great marriage of song and movie. I remember this time in my life. Very difficult, very bright, very alive.
Thanks for the youtube tip, Phil Attey.
Thor opened to a strong $66 million from 3,955 theaters at the domestic box office.
Overseas, where the movie debuted first, Thor has earned an impressive $176 million in only 11 days — better than the lifetime international gross of fellow Marvel properties X-Men ($139 million) and Fantastic Four ($175.9 million). Thor’s worldwide total is $242 million.
All along, Paramount said the film would open better than X-Men and Fantastic Four, which debuted to roughly $56 million domestically, but not reach the heights of Spider-Man or Iron Man, which cleared $100 million.
Yeah – I know there are pics of Hemsworth as “Thor” – I just like this one.
