Man with Romney campaign tattoo is finally removing it

I never saw this report from November with Eric Hartsburg explaining why he got this tattoo ($15,000) and why he finally decided to have it removed (Romney was a sore loser).

Remember, he got the tattoo about a week before the election when polls showed President Obama ahead.

And then there’s the pink scrunchie holding his pony tail. Just saying…

Mitt Romney: “I wish the hurricane hadn’t happened when it did”

Mitt Romney sat down with CNN’s Gloria Borger this week to reflect on his failed Presidential campaign and episodes along the way such as the 47% video and Hurricane Sandy which proved to be major factors in the election outcome.

Mitt Romney: “And there were other things that didn’t help my campaign, either. Obviously a hurricane with a week to go before the election stalled our campaign.”

Gloria Borger: “Do you blame Chris Christie as much as some other people..?

Mitt Romney: “No, no, no… No. No, no…I — I wish the hurricane hadn’t have happened…when it did, because it gave the President a chance to be presidential, and to be out showing sympathy for folks. That’s one of the advantages of incumbency. But, you know, you don’t look back and worry about each little thing, and how could that have been different. You look forward.”

He wishes the hurricane didn’t happen when it did?

I personally wish it never happened but maybe that’s me.

Still thinking good thoughts for all the people affected by the tragedy of the storm.

The man behind Mitt Romney’s “47 percent video” comes forward

Scott Prouty, a bartender hired for the Romney fundraiser, comes forward as the man who recorded Mitt Romney’s notorious “47%” comments.

Prouty says he didn’t go in with a grudge or the intent to “get Mitt Romney.”

Prouty also shares that no one was told not to record or take pictures, and that there were several people at the event with their cameras out. Plus there was a video crew and sound crew.

He says he struggled for a few weeks about whether to share the recording. He says he felt an obligation to release it for the people who can’t afford to pay $50,000 to hear what Romney says behind closed doors.

Who would know when he started recording that it would turn out to be a major factor in the 2012 campaign?

Mitt Romney “had no desire to run” says his son

The jokes just write themselves, folks.

Mitt Romney didn’t want to be president, anyway.

That’s what Tagg Romney, Mitt’s oldest son, told the Boston Globe for its big post-mortem on his father’s failed presidential bid published on Sunday.

“He wanted to be president less than anyone I’ve met in my life,” Tagg Romney told the paper. “He had no desire to … run. If he could have found someone else to take his place … he would have been ecstatic to step aside.

Romney’s reluctance to become commander in chief has been hinted at by his sons before. Before their father sought the 2012 GOP nomination, several said they tried to convince him not to run.

“I tried to convince him not to,” Matt Romney told Conan O’Brien in June. “I think there were a few of us that tried that. I just felt for us as a family, this isn’t the best thing. But … for the country, we think it’s the right thing.”

Romney hated the idea of running for President so much he ran twice.

What a nice slap in the face to all those who worked on his campaign, donated millions to his campaign and wasted their vote on him. Maybe he should think about repaying every one of them.

One campaign worker said he shut off their credit cards before they could get a cab home after his concession speech (which he had NOT written, because he “only wrote an acceptance speech.”) That really sounds like someone who “really didn’t want it anyway.”

GOP continues to pile on Romney after “gifts” commnet

On the Sunday political talk shows, Republicans on Mitt Romney regarding his statement to donors last week that Obama won due in part to “gifts” he gave to African-American, Latino, and younger voters:

Sen. Lindsey Graham on Meet the Press: “We’re in a big hole. We’re not getting out of it by comments like that. When you’re in a hole, stop digging. He keeps digging.”

Newt Gingrich on ABC: “I just think it’s nuts… I mean, the job of a political leader in part is to understand the people. If we can’t offer a better future that is believable to more people, we’re not going to win.”

Conservative writer George Will added on ABC: “It’s been well said that you have a political problem when the voters don’t like you, but you’ve got a real problem when the voters think you don’t like them… quit despising the American people.”

And with that, Mitt Romney is officially denounced by the GOP.

Mitt Romney losing Facebook “Likes” at rate of 847 an hour

A website, Disappearing Romney, tracks Romney’s Facebook “likes” in real time.

Writes Mashable:

Soon after Romney conceded the election, though, his social media followers began dropping quickly. Since 11:30 on Tuesday, more than 55,025 users have unliked the Massachusetts Governor, at a rate of about 847 an hour.

Romney’s actually gained 17,601 Twitter followers since he lost the election. That’s odd, and might be more evidence of bot activity more than human interest, considering he hasn’t tweeted since 5:55 on Election Day—a final relic of a message reads “With your help, we will turn our country around and get America back on the path to prosperity. Please vote today.”

By comparison, Obama has increased his already-impressive social media numbers. He’s got 33,118,444 Facebook likes, which is 804,479 more than he had on election night and, most notably, 20,982,472 more than Romney had at his peak.
