Fox News’ Megyn Kelly Has Private Meeting With Donald Trump

Fox News’ Megyn Kelly, after months of attacks by Donald Trump, privately met with the Trumpster at his Fifth Avenue Trump Towers yesterday in an attempt to “clear the air” between the two, and discus a possible interview on her evening broadcast.

Via Politico:

Kelly said the meeting was held at her request and was an effort to clear the air between herself and Trump. Trump has publicly attacked Kelly on a number of occasions, ever since she grilled him on his past comments about women at the first Republican primary debate last year.

“We met for about an hour, just the two of us, and had a chance to clear the air,” Kelly said. “Mr. Trump and I discussed the possibility of an interview. And I hope we will have news to announce on that soon.”

Kelly has largely tried to stay above the fray, though she acknowledged at Tina Brown’s Women in the World conference last week that Trump’s attacks on her have been “unprecedented for a presidential candidate.”

Fox News Calls Donald Trump Out For “Vitriolic Attacks” On Megyn Kelly

After months of Donald Trump’s ugly attacks on Fox News’ Megyn Kelly, her network has decided ‘enough is enough.’

Fox News issued a statement today calling out Trump’s “sick obsession” and “vitriolic attacks” on Kelly.

Donald Trump’s vitriolic attacks against Megyn Kelly and his extreme, sick obsession with her is beneath the dignity of a presidential candidate who wants to occupy the highest office in the land. As the mother of three young children, with a successful law career and the second highest rated show in cable news, it’s especially deplorable for her to be repeatedly abused just for doing her job

Considering Fox News is the leading conservative news source for most Americans, this should make for an interesting election cycle.

Fox News’ Megyn Kelly Inks $10 Million Book Deal After “Trump Wars”

It clearly pays well to battle with Donald Trump as evidenced by Fox News’ host Megyn Kelly newly announced $10 million book deal.

Deadline reports the host of Fox News’ “The Kelly File” will pen what many expect to be a memoir for Gallery Books. The tome is expected for release this fall.

I’m waiting for The Trumpster to tweet out a “You’re welcome” any time now.

Fox News’ Megyn Kelly Slaps Down Anti-Gay Brian Brown Over Marriage Equality & SCOTUS

In an effort to find some semblance of relevance in today’s world of marriage equality, virulently anti-gay Brian Brown (of the ironically-named National Organization for Marriage) made an appearance on Fox News last night to talk on Alabama state Supreme Court Justice Roy Moore’s feckless attempt to stop same-sex marriages in his state.

Of course, as we all know, last June the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that same-sex marriage was a right in this country, and thus making it possible for gay and lesbian couples everywhere in America to wed.

Grasping at straws, Brown tried to make an (illogical) legal case for Moore’s impertinence. The results – and response from experienced lawyer Megyn Kelly – were not exactly what Brown was hoping for.

Brown’s opening gambit was the fine legal thinking of Rick Santorum and Mike Huckabee (imagine that wedding), which holds that Supreme Court rulings are more, like, guidelines. Kelly lost it a little when Brown said officials shouldn’t “kowtow” to the court (which might be NOM-speak for some kind of man-dairy animal union), then patiently tried to explain the legal concept codified in Marbury vs Madison.

That’s when Brown really stepped in it, telling attorney Megyn Kelly “I think you are misreading Marbury vs Madison.” If Megyn Kelly ever decides to return to practicing law, her new strategy should be to just make faces during opposing counsel’s argument. She’d win every case.

Donald Trump Catches Heat For Megyn Kelly “Blood Coming Out Of Her ‘Wherever'” Comment

Donald Trump has been on a long anti-Megyn Kelly rant ever since Thursday night’s first GOP debate where, according to Trump, she didn’t treat him very well.

Trump went on Twitter to belittle and denounce her, and urged his followers to do the same.

Things then escalated last night as Trump called in to talk with CNN’s Don Lemon.

During Thursday’s presidential debate, Kelly pressed Trump about misogynistic, sexist comments he made in the past, such as calling some women “fat pigs, dogs, slobs, and disgusting animals.”

Trump slammed Kelly, saying her questions were “ridiculous” and “off-base.”

“You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes,” Trump told CNN’s Don Lemon on Friday night. “Blood coming out of her wherever.”

The real estate mogul elaborated in a statement later Saturday morning, claiming he said “‘blood coming out of her eyes and whatever,’ meaning nose.”

Duggars: Josh Is “Technically” Not A Pedophile Because He Wasn’t An Adult When He Molested Sisters

Last night, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar (of 19 Kids and Counting fame) spoke with Fox News’ Megyn Kelly about the ongoing scandal regarding their son’s admission of sexually molesting several young girls (including his sisters) when he was in his mid-teens.

The Duggars came armed with statements like:

“He said he was just curious about girls and he had gone in and just basically touched them over their clothes while they were sleeping; they didn’t even know he had done it.”

“This was like touching somebody over their clothes. There were a couple instances where he touched them under their clothes. This was not rape or anything like that.”

The parents explained that Josh gave a full account of his actions to an Arkansas State Trooper. Although no charges were filed, the teenager received a “stern” talking-to from the officer.

That officer, Joseph Hutchens, now serving a decades-long prison sentence for child pornography. “We had no idea what that officer was going through,” Jim Bob said.

When asked about robocalls Michelle Duggar recorded opposing transgender rights that suggested transgender folks were just trying to get into girls bathroom for sexual reasons, Jim Bob Duggar told Kelly that his wife “actually said pedophile in that robocall. And actually a pedophile is an adult that preys on children. Joshua was actually 14 and just turned 15 when he did what he did. I think the legal definition is 16 and up for an adult preying on a child. He was a child preying on a child.”

Josh Duggar, himself, has not commented on the scandal since it broke two weeks ago. At the time he issued a short statement saying he had “acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret. I hurt others, including my family and close friends.”

Megyn Kelly Gives Anti-Gay Tony Perkins A Soapbox To Support Indiana’s “License To Discriminate”

Lots of panels discussing the Indiana debacle going on yesterday.

I have recently been impressed with Megyn Kelly for being fair-minded in a few interviews lately. But here she digresses to clearly biased in her position on the SB101 issue. Over and over she tells Mark Hannah to let anti-gay Tony Perkins finish, but when Perkins continually interrupts Hannah, she says nothing.

And then when she chimes in to reiterate that Indiana’s law is “the same” as other state’s RFRA laws… Not sure why I’m surprised.

Of course, Tony has to bring up the ever famous “ham sandwich” scenario in a jewish deli… Tired.
