‘Matt & Dan’ Serve Up Deliciously Off-Kilter Encounter
Don’t you hate it when folks come up to you in public, immediately jump into conversation like they know you, but you have NO IDEA who they are? The latest episode from Matt Wilkas and Daniel Vincent Gordh’s self-titled web series, Matt & Dan, takes the ‘where do I know you from?’ scenario and ramps up the socially awkward score to Level 10. In ‘Best Friends For Never,’ Matt (above) is grabbing some java on his way to CrossFit class when Dan spots him from across the coffee shop. Dan: “Oh, my god…Ben!” Matt: (draws total blank) “So fun…”(not) Amid weird hugs and kisses, Matt tries to decipher where he knows Dan from, but…nothing. Every question is met with a dodge even though Dan clearly knows a LOT about Matt’s life – his recent birthday party, his gym workout schedule… When Matt’s friend ‘Sarah’ (guest star Julia Cho) gets dragged into the increasingly weird meet-up, she tries to divine some background (“Are you in Jill’s Pilates class? Northwestern?”), but only finds herself further and further in the Twilight Zone. We won’t give away where it all goes, but props to the duo for the deliciously off-kilter encounter. Plus – bonus points for Matt Wilkas in a tank top 🙂 Check out the new episode below, and you can find past episodes on their YouTube channel here.

• #TBT: The above photo was from one of my last headshot sessions while I was still an actor. I hated having to take headshots. I remember early on in New York City, I was sitting for one photographer. He told me, “Turn away, then look at me and think ‘SEXY.’ I turned away and then shifted back to the camera…but there was no click as the photographer said, “Umm, no…” And there you have it LOL.

PEOPLE Magazine reports that out Olympic silver medalist Gus Kenworthy and longtime boyfriend, actor Matt Wilkas, have “decided to take a break in their relationship.”
“Gus and Matt are taking time apart,” a spokesperson for the couple told PEOPLE. “They love and support each other and remain close friends.”
The couple met via Instagram when Kenworthy reportedly messaged Wilkas in November 2015.
Kenworthy told PEOPLE that some folks found the Insta approach unusual.
“It sounds bizarre, because I’ve said it to people and they were like, ‘I didn’t know people did that,’ ” Kenworthy shared after competing at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in South Korea.
The two exchanged messages, then exchanged phone numbers and met for a coffee date in New York City. They’ve been dating ever since.
The couple was famously photographed kissing at the bottom of a ski slope at the Winter Games after a successful run by Kenworthy.
The last social media post to feature the duo was on June 8 as the couple took part in the AIDS/LifeCycle annual fundraising event.
Kenworthy’s latest Instagram post shared his excitement in joining the cast of the upcoming American Horror Story: 1984.
And Wilkas has been spending time in Provincetown, MA.
Sometimes, people come together for a period of time to learn some life lesson. When the lesson is learned, folks head to the next chapter.
Or, sometimes couples take a break and then find each other again.
Wishing both talented men the best in whatever comes next.
