Music Video: Lady Gaga “Perfect Illusion”

Check out Lady Gaga’s music video for her new single “Perfect Illusion.”

This is the first single to be released from her upcoming fifth studio album entitled Joanne out Friday, October 21st.

I’m a fan of Gaga, but this music video is a tad busy to watch with the uber-cuts and flashing lights, etc.

And there is the issue of that key change in the song.

That said, I’m sure it will still be a hit for LG.

Thoughts?

New Music: Lady Gaga “Perfect Illusion”

Lady Gaga thrilled her little monsters with her first new single in three years – “Perfect Illusion.”

The break-up song starts off with strong rock guitar riffs, leading into powerful vocals from Gaga. The lyrics may not be her deepest as the song is a whole lot of repeating “It was the perfect illusion,” but her fans are sure to be thrilled.

You can check it out on iTunes here.

Lady Gaga & Elton John Team Up On “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me”

Before Lady Gaga’s heart-stopping performance of her Best Song nominated “Til It Happens To You,” Lady Gaga joined music legend (and Oscar winner) Sir Elton John for a rousing rendition of “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me” on Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood.

The event was a ‘thank you’ to the city of West Hollywood for hosting Elton’s annual Academy Awards viewing party.

From Rolling Stone:

“The City of West Hollywood has welcomed the Elton John AIDS Foundation and our annual Academy Awards Viewing Party with open arms for many years, providing us with the perfect environment to host a really fun and special evening,” John said in a statement prior to the concert. “We are profoundly grateful for their generous support, so I wanted to do something special just for them by giving our West Hollywood fans and supporters a surprise concert. Thank you, West Hollywood!”

UK Cast Of The Sound Of Music Goes All Out In “The Sound Of Gaga”

Check out this impressive tribute to Lady Gaga by the current UK cast of The Sound of Music.

Looks like the talented cast adapted their staging to accommodate the Gaga songs. Well done!

Here’s the clip description:

At the 2015 Oscars, Lady Gaga performed a medley of songs from The Sound of Music to mark the 50th Anniversary of the classic movie. In return, the cast of The Sound of Music pay their thanks to the ‘Mother Monster’ by performing their take on some of Lady Gaga’s hits.

And Lady Gaga approves:

Ben Shapiro Takes Cheap Shot At Gaga

Professional asshole Ben Shapiro sent out the above tweet last night, taking a dig at Lady Gaga after her national anthem performance at the Super Bowl.

The comment was too crunchy for even his own followers as the response was not what he was probably expecting. See below just a few choice retorts.

Lady Gaga’s National Anthem At Super Bowl 50

Certainly a fantastic performance by Lady Gaga of our national anthem at Super Bowl 50.

Of course, the comparisons are now being made to Whitney Houston’s once in a lifetime performance 25 years ago. Kids, we don’t have to compare everyone and everything. Sometimes, we can just enjoy 🙂

Having made her mark initially with wild costumes, it’s great to see her show off her serious vocal chops every now and then.

By the way, it’s a little known fact that the first artist to ever perform at a Super Bowl was my dear Carol Channing, back at Super Bowl IV.

Lady Gaga Booked To Sing National Anthem At Super Bowl

Wow – the little monsters will lose their minds.

Billboard is reporting that Lady Gaga will sing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl this weekend when the Carolina Panthers face off against the Denver Broncos at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Just another big moment for Gaga this month as it was previously announced she will perform a David Bowie tribute at the Grammys, and she’s nominated for an Academy Award for her song “Til It Happens To You” for the film, The Hunting Ground.

Music: Lady Gaga Covers Chic Classic “I Want Your Love” For Tom Ford Fashion Line

Ok, I really like this. Who doesn’t love the original version of “I Want Your Love” by Chic?

But Lady Gaga and Nile Rodgers collaborated on this updated take on the 1978 hit for Tom Ford’s new Spring/Summer 2016 collection with a video directed by Nick Knight. And I think the whole thing shows high style with great music production.

From Rolling Stone:

“Instead of having a traditional show this season, I wanted to think about how to present a collection in a cinematic way that was designed from its inception to be presented online,” Ford said in a statement.

“I have always loved Soul Train which used to be on TV in the Seventies; as it was as much about the clothes as the music, I asked Nile Rodgers to collaborate on a new version of one of his great hits from that time, ‘I Want Your Love,’ and worked with Gaga to record the vocals.

“I then staged a full show in Los Angeles and filmed it with Gaga on the runway.”

Music Video: Lady Gaga “Til It Happens To You”

Lady Gaga drops her first single of 2015 with “Til It Happens To You.”

The song, written by Diane Warren, is featured in a campus rape documentary, “The Hunting Ground,” which premiered in January this year.

From MTV:

Written and directed by “Twilight’s” Catherine Hardwicke, the video opens with a warning of its graphic content.

“I hope that this PSA, with its raw and truthful portrayals, will send a clear message that we need to support these courageous survivors and end this epidemic plaguing our college campuses,” Hardwicke said in a statement.

A portion of the song’s sale proceeds will be donated to organizations helping survivors of sexual assault.

The single is now available on iTunes.
