Conservatives loving on some Putin

Jon Stewart dives right in the deep end with the cognitive dissonance on display by some conservatives these days who can’t fan the flames of their affection for Russian President Putin enough.

Lately, you can’t count number of right-wing wackos who get on TV chatting about how strong and decisive Putin is, and at the same time trashing our President.  Remember when trashing your President in public was considered a no-no?

And — here’s the tricky part – they turn around and call President Obama a dictator and hating on his policy approach after loving on some Putin.

Check out The Daily Show’s take on this flip-flop love affair Palin and company have for a guy who’s breaking international law.

Jon Stewart breaks down marriage equality in red states

Via Mediaite:

Jon Stewart was admittedly surprised Thursday night at the gains gay marriage is making even in strongly red states like Utah in Oklahoma, even if in one of those cases people are stuck in a complex Schrodinger’s marriage paradox. Utah officially recognized gay marriage, except that it then decided not to, but then the federal government stepped in, so they’re sort of married, but not fully, and… well, Stewart couldn’t really make heads or tails of it.

Stewart also mocked Louis Gohmert for saying that pro-gay marriage judges need “plumbing lessons”, explaining that there are male-to-male, female-to-female, and two-male-one-female pipe parts that actually exist, and Stewart couldn’t help getting a little aroused by them.

Jon Stewart of The Daily Show – “Shutstorm 2013”

From Mediaite: For the third night in a row, Jon Stewart opened The Daily Show with coverage of “Shutstorm 2013″ and this time his rage was aimed squarely at “Bullshit Mountain,” AKA Fox News.

He noticed that the hosts over at Fox seem to have realized that “this shutdown ain’t looking so hot for one particular political party.”

Jon Stewart rips GOP on government shutdown

Jon Stewart tore apart Republicans over threatening to shut the government down over Obamacare, using it to claim the GOP doesn’t really care about the Constitution that much to begin with, mocking their concern that Obamacare is “the end of America as we know it for reasons no one is able to clearly explain!

Stewart walked through how Obamacare was already upheld as constitutional, and offered a simple analogy: when football teams lose, they don’t say “If you don’t give us 25 points on Monday, we will shut down the fucking NFL!” He decried this “utter insanity” and berated the media for thinking both sides are equally at blame here, likening Republicans to an “asshole causing a head-on collision” on the highway.”

Stewart ended by calling out the GOP for the talking point that Obama negotiates with Iran but not them.

“You’re not helping yourself if it turns out that President Barack Obama can made a deal with the most intransigent, hardline, unreasonable, totalitarian mullahs in the world, but not with Republicans, maybe he’s not the problem!”

Jon Stewart on Ted Cruz’ misguided 21 hour waste of tax payers time

Jon Stewart is on a classic roll with Sen. Ted Cruz’ rambling, useless 21 hour diatribe on the floor of the US Senate:

In response to Cruz’ now famous reading of Green Eggs and Ham – “So to express your opposition to Obamacare, you go to the book about a stubborn jerk who decides he hates something before he’s tried it, and when he finally gets a taste, he has to admit after he’s tasted it, ‘This is pretty fucking good.’”

Jon Stewart to Fox News: Who cares how we avoid a war as long as we avoid a war?

As the possibility of a military strike on Syria by the USA looks to possibly be avoided, Fox News could not help but spin the non-violent resolution into a negative for the President.

I know – quel surprise.

As Jon Stewart at The Daily Show points out – “Who cares how we avoided a war and got a dictator to give up his chemical weapons if we avoided a war and got a dictator to give up his chemical weapons.”

But some folks – like the ones at Fox News – who only live to create some alternative reality where everything under a Democratic President sucks and all things under a Republican President is roses and candy.

I know, I know… Nothing new. But Stewart is pretty funny stating the obvious in his own fab way. Watch the video.
