Donald Trump Responds To Mitt Romney Criticism

Speaking to supporters in Maine today, GOP presidential front-runner responded to 2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney’s criticisms of his campaign and bona fides.

It goes long – I’ll warn you. But to be fair, I’m posting this.

I think the most notable thing Trump does here is say that Romney wanted Trump’s endorsement so badly back in 2012 that, as The Donald said, “I could have said Mitt, ‘Drop to your knees’ and he would have dropped to his knees.”

I’m not sure if Trumpster was referring to a blowjob or begging…

Watch the remarks below.

Pro-Cruz Robocall Paints Donald Trump As Pro-LGBT

A new robocall hitting South Carolina voters right before the state’s Republican primary attempts to portray Donald Trump into some kind of pro-LGBT politician, and smears LGBT rights along the way.

The ad takes uses part of an interview with NECN reporter Sue O’Connell, who asks if LGBTs would continue to see forward motion under a Trump presidency.

“I’m a lesbian,” O’Connell tells Trump. “We’ve had some great progress for the gay and lesbian community through politics, through all sorts of judicial actions and elected actions over the past 20 years. When President Trump is in office, can we look for more forward motion for equality for gays and lesbians?”

Trump responds, “Well, you can. And look, that’s your thing, and other people have their thing. We have to bring all people together.” At this point, the narrator’s voice, now taking on an incredulous tone, interjects: “Stop. What does she mean by ‘forward motion’? What’s he agreeing to?”

“It’s not about tolerance anymore,” the narrator continues. “It’s about mandatory celebration. It’s about forcing people to bake cakes and photograph gay weddings. Forcing clergy to officiate. It’s about transgender bathrooms in your child’s school. It’s about tearing down our Judeo-Christian values. It’s about tearing down our America.” The recording ends with an ominous sign-off from the narrator: “Ted Cruz for president — now, before it’s too late.”

Of course, no one has ever attempted to force clergy to officiate a same-sex wedding, nor has the LGBT movement attacked Christian values. And don’t get me started on the bakers and photographers who break state non-discrimination laws.

Here’s the robocall. Please note the very “Rush Limbaugh” type voice.

Ted Cruz To Donald Trump On Threat Of Lawsuit: “Please Sue Me – I’ll Depose You Myself”

From Real Clear Politics:

Ted Cruz responds to a cease and desist letter from Donald Trump’s lawyer threatening to sue him for defamation and damages over an ad running in South Carolina. Trump claims the ad constituted defamation, but Cruz says “bring it on.”

“I have to say to Mr. Trump you have been threatening frivolous lawsuits for your entire adult life,” Cruz said at a press conference in South Carolina. “If you want to file a lawsuit challenging this ad claiming it is defamation… file the lawsuit.”

Donald Trump Attack Ad Frames Ted Cruz As Waffling On Immigration

The war of words continues between GOP front-runners Donald Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz as the Iowa caucus’ loom just on the horizon.

Trump has a new ad out attacking Cruz’s position on immigration reform using an appearance on FOX News where Cruz seemed to stutter, unable to fully explain his position.

Of course, it ends with Trump doing a confident and clearly practiced articulation of his anti-immigrant position.

It’s a solid ad, but nothing spectacular. On a scale of one to ten, I’d give it a 7.

The ad is set to run in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina.

Donald Trump Attacks Ted Cruz On Twitter

GOP White House hopeful Donald Trump cemented the news that his “bromance” with fellow Republican Ted Cruz is over with a Saturday “Twitter rant” attacking Cruz on everything from the “birther” issue, to the news of unreported campaign loans, to Cruz’s non-apology over his “New York values” comment at the last Republican debate.

Jeb Bush Attacks Marco Rubio To The Tune Of “These Boots Are Made For Walkin'”

Lets face it – part of the fun of primary season is the sometime hysterical manner and audacious lengths some candidates will go to attack another.

Today we get Jeb Bush’s latest attack on Sen. Marco Rubio which incorporates the recent “Bootgate” story regarding Rubio’s choice of Cuban heel footwear.

Set to the tune of Nancy Sinatra’s “These Boots Are Made For Walkin'” the spot highlights Rubio’s absences at Senate votes and his record of flip-flopping.

It’s worth noting that Jeb Bush was once considered a mentor of sorts to young Rubio.

Rick Santorum Goes After Ted Cruz In New Campaign Ad

File this under “Infighting is fun” as former Sen. Rick Santorum goes after current front-runner in Iowa, Sen. Ted Cruz, for the Republican nomination in a new ad airing in the Hawkeye state.

From Politico:

“Ted Cruz is wonderful at reading children’s fairy tales on the Senate floor,” the spot titled, appropriately, “Fairy Tales” begins, showing Cruz reading Dr. Seuss’ “Green Eggs and Ham” during a filibuster on the Senate floor in 2013.

It then contrasts Cruz’s conduct in the Senate with that of Santorum, who served from 1995 to 2007.

“Rick Santorum spent his time in the Senate a little differently,” the narrator says. “Eight years on the Senate Armed Services Committee, helping to modernize today’s Army to better be prepared for today’s threats. Santorum also wrote and passed tough laws putting harsh sanctions on Iran.”

Cruz went ballistic when a political cartoonist included his children in a recent cartoon after Cruz utilized his kids in an ad that aired during an episode of SNL.

I wonder how Cruz will take to the use of his kids here?

Donald Trump Goes After Ben Carson Over “Stabbing” Incident

Donald Trump asks “How stupid are the people of Iowa?” as he ranted and railed against the now infamous “stabbing incident” Dr. Ben Carson described in his biography.

From CNN:

Donald Trump on Thursday told Iowa’s voters that those who support Ben Carson are “stupid” to believe the “crap” that is his life story, part of a stunning 95-minute tirade that included his most aggressive attack yet on his closest competitor.

Toward the end of his wide-ranging complaints about the country and competition, Trump mocked Carson’s narrative about his violent temper as a youth that was calmed only when he prayed to God and asked for deliverance, an event that Carson describes as a miracle. That story of redemption has underpinned much of Carson’s support in the Hawkeye State.

Apparently, the rant went on for over an hour.

We were all wondering how long it would take for Trump to begin attacking Carson now that the good doctor has overtaken Trump in several polls.
