Ace Young & Diana DeGarmo, of American Idol fame, marry in LA

Last year Michael introduced me to Ace Young and Diana DeGarmo, the first couple of American Idol.

Ace famously proposed to Diana on the season finale of American Idol last year, and yesterday we were lucky to be invited to attend their gorgeous wedding in Los Angeles.

In front of 250 guests, including fellow Idol alums Elliot Yamin, Michael Johns and Kevin Covais, and Idol coach (and friend for years) Michael Orland. Diana’s brother David returned from Afghanistan to walk her down the aisle making the ceremony that much more emotional.

People are what make a wedding the celebration that it is, and the people in attendance were some of the most fun I’ve met in a long time. Not only did we celebrate with Ace and Diana, but met up with my friend Tracy Powell (who I’ve worked with in the theater) and her fab “plus one” Dee Hoty of Broadway fabulousness. AND I spent much of the night with the Montoyas – Lori and Ron and fab sis Lisa Krause – of “Sin City Rules” and Rain Cosmetics fame.

Gorgeous people, gorgeous wedding, gorgeous night.

Happiness all around.

US Marine Corps Captain Matthew Phelps marries Ben Schock

U.S. Marine Corps Captain Matthew Phelps wed Ben Schock this Saturday in Seattle.

Captain Phelps famously proposed to Schock this past December, becoming the first gay couple ever to do so at the White House.

As you may recall, Phelps and Schock have been outspoken about the damage DOMA has caused gay military couples such as themselves.

Congratulations to the happy couple!  More wine!
