They have had reactions that range from hate mail to sex invites to emotional thanks for simply being open about who they are. Even in these post–marriage equality decision days, being openly gay can still be considered activism.

Hunky Charlie Hunnam Covers Entertainment Weekly

Insanely handsome Charlie Hunnam tells Entertainment Weekly that his upcoming King Arthur, directed by Guy Ritchie, will be a departure from past versions of the legendary hero:

Orphaned as an infant and raised by three prostitutes in the 5th century version of London, this Arthur is more of a street-wise hood, who looks after the people living in his tiny corner of the world. “He’s a little bit rough around the edges, but he’s basically a survivor. He’s a hustler,” Hunnam says. “He’s a street kid. There’s definitely a harder edge to him than people would imagine. It’s sort of classic Guy Ritchie stuff.”

Update: Just Because…

I’m updating this post from yesterday as the hunky cop pictured above was discovered by much of the internet as the pic went viral within a few hours.

It seems the interwebs are all into (newly identified) New York City Sheriff’s department Deputy Miguel Pimentel, a former Marine, who finds himself in a viral vortex of attention.

From the New York Daily News:

Pimentel joined the Marines when he was 21 and served his country for 10 years, completing three tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan.

“I was on the Marine Corps body building team my last year in the Marines and I liked it right away,” Pimentel said. “Ever since then it’s been a part of my life.”

He joined the Sheriff’s Department in 2013, the same year he won the National Physique Committee New Jersey State Championships for amateur bodybuilding.

George Miller, original director of the series – Mad Max (1979), Mad Max 2 (1981) and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985) – returned to helm Tom Hardy in Mad Max: Fury Road. The movies follow a former law enforcement officer as he contends with criminals in a dystopic Australian wasteland.

Oscar winner Charlize Theron co-stars.

Mad Max: Fury Road hits theaters May 15th.
