Tyler’s ready for a lazy weekend, and I def don’t hate that. #ProblemSolved • Advocate: On a technicality, the Kentucky Supreme Court has dismissed a lawsuit brought against a shop that refused to print T-shirts for Lexington’s 2012 Pride Festival. The court didn’t rule on LGBTQ rights or not, but dismissed the case because the party that brought the claim, the Gay and Lesbian Services Organization, lacked standing because it was not the party denied service by the business. • KIT212: Kenneth has the latest on what’s making news in this week’s gay magazine. • BBC: An Indonesian man who worked for an organization that helped draft strict laws making adultery & gay sex punishable by public whipping has been caned after being caught having an affair with a married woman. #karmaPlaybill: Tony and Emmy winner Billy Porter (Kinky Boots, Pose) and Tony winner Idina Menzel (Wicked) will perform during the 2019 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Also joining the festivities (9 AM ET on NBC on Thanksgiving Day) is Broadway alum and Glee star Lea Michele. • Politico: Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) has begun closing campaign offices in New Hampshire due to a shortage of funds. The campaign announced the decision was made to go ‘all-in’ in Iowa for the first-in-the-country contest. • New Music: Gryffin & Slander dropped their EDM single, “All You Need To Know” featuring the vocals of Swedish singer/songwriter Calle Lehmann, back in March. The track comes from Gryffin’s full-length debut album, Gravity. I liked it back then, but today they share this acoustic take on the track which reveals a much deeper emotional core to the song. Regular readers of The Randy Report know how I love artists reinventing, and thereby discovering more of, their own art. I like this.

Gus Kenworthy and Emma Roberts in American Horror Story: 1984 Some news items you might have missed: • American Horror Story: Who caught last night’s debut of the #ThrowbackThursday worthy American Horror Story: 1984 featuring out Olympian Gus Kenworthy (above)? • CNN: Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and businessman Andrew Yang will not be taking part in either the LGBTQ Forum in Iowa tomorrow night or the CNN Town Hall on LGBTQ issues on October 10. Sanders has a town hall in North Carolina on September 20, and both campaigns site ‘scheduling conflicts’ for the October Town Hall. • Business Insider: A new poll shows only 13 percent of Americans would support the US joining Saudi Arabia in a military conflict as part of a response to a recent attack on two major Saudi oil fields. • ABC News: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau apologized Thursday afternoon for photos from years ago showing him dressed in blackface and brownface. “This is something I deeply, deeply regret,” he told reporters, adding that wearing blackface is “always unacceptable because of the racist history of blackface. I should’ve understood it then, and I should have never done it.”

OUT: Officials at a Russian university reportedly threatened a student with expulsion after an investigation – revealing he has a pink phone case – aroused suspicions he is gay. • Reuters: Yikes! Indonesia is poised to pass a new penal code that criminalizes consensual sex outside marriage. Under the proposed law, unmarried couples who “live together as a husband and wife” could be jailed for six months or face a maximum fine of 10 million rupiah ($710), which is three months’ salary for many Indonesians. • LA Times: In an early victory for Donald Trump, a federal judge ordered a temporary injunction Thursday against California’s first-in-the-nation law requiring candidates to disclose their tax returns for a spot on the presidential primary ballot. • New Music: DJ Gryffin (who is heading to my town of Las Vegas this weekend for the Life Is Beautiful Festival) releases his latest collaboration, “Baggage,” featuring UK synth-pop duo AlunaGeorge. A strong hook, hypnotic rhythms, and sleep house production make for a worthy addition to the 31-year-old’s catalog.

Los Angeles-based artist and producer Gryffin releases a new single, “Tie Me Down” featuring singer-songwriter Elley Duhé, out now via all digital download sites.

The summer love song, written by Sarah Aarons (Zedd’s “Middle” and “Stay”) and produced by Gryffin, is the latest single from Gryffin’s upcoming full-length debut album, which will be released by Darkroom/Geffen Records later this year.

“’Tie Me Down’ is a song that’s been over a year in the making,” Gryffin recently told Billboard. “It’s one of the hardest records I’ve had to make, but one of my favorites. We went through over 10 different vocalists looking for the perfect match on this song, and finally found it with Elley Duhé. She brings the perfect energy and passion to the record, and I couldn’t be more proud of the way it came together.”

New Music: Gryffin “Nobody Compares To You” Featuring Katie Pearlman

Check out the latest single from Los Angeles-based producer Gryffin’, “Nobody Compares To You” featuring rising vocalist Katie Pearlman.

The light, airy production has a beat you can bounce to, and Pearlman’s vocals have a sweet effervescence.

Take a listen below. Gryffin is currently on his “Castle In The Sky” tour.

New Music: Gryffin “Love To Ruins”

Gryffin releases the official video for his new latest single “Love In Ruins,” featuring London singer-songwriter Sinead Harnett.

Billboard calls it “a breezy cut” that “melds the worlds of indie and dance,” while Earmilk notes its “melodic tone, with ambient synths and strumming guitar,” as “Harnett’s pained voice tells a story of love lost over gentle production.”

“Love in Ruins” follows his previous single “Feel Good” with Illenium and featuring Daya. Described by Billboard as “melodic ear candy,” “Feel Good” has racked up more than 43 million Spotify plays since its release in March.

I love hooky melodic ambient tracks that have a chill vibe that can suit afternoon pool time or late night social time. The texture of the track just feels good.
