Michigan Republican Attempts To Cover His Extra-Marital Affair By Starting False Gay Rumor About Himself

Michigan lawmakers Todd Courser and Cindy Gamrat

I mean, you really can’t make this stuff up.

Michigan GOP lawmaker Rep. Todd Courser attempted to cover up his real extramarital affair with another Republican lawmaker, Rep. Cindy Gamrat (both straight, married to other people, several kids each) by having his aide spread false gay rumors about him.

See, that way, when the truth came out about his real affair it wouldn’t seem so bad. Got it?

From Queerty:

It would have worked perfectly (but really though, would it have?) had Ben Graham, Courser’s aide at the time, not recorded the whole thing. Graham refused to send the email, and was promptly fired. (Side note: Gamrat also fired her aide who was unwilling to assist in the coverup.)

In the recordings, Courser was heard asking Graham to send the email and get “nasty about it” by saying the lawmaker was addicted to porn and was a “sexual deviant.”

The two lawmakers are married with children, and have worked in tandem to actively block same-sex marriage even after the Supreme Court’s June decision. Because Jesus. And freedom.

Trump Fires Top Adviser, Adviser Fires Back “I Fired Trump”

Conflicting reports (egos?) on the firing of top Donald Trump campaign adviser Roger Stone.

According to USA Today, Donald Trump has parted ways with top aide Roger Stone.

Here’s the statement released Saturday afternoon from Trump’s campaign:

Mr. Trump fired Roger Stone last night. We have a tremendously successful campaign and Roger wanted to use the campaign for his own personal publicity. He has had a number of articles about him recently and Mr. Trump wants to keep the focus of the campaign on how to Make America Great Again

However, Roger Stone has fired back via Twitter with this bon mot:

Donald Trump Catches Heat For Megyn Kelly “Blood Coming Out Of Her ‘Wherever'” Comment

Donald Trump has been on a long anti-Megyn Kelly rant ever since Thursday night’s first GOP debate where, according to Trump, she didn’t treat him very well.

Trump went on Twitter to belittle and denounce her, and urged his followers to do the same.

Things then escalated last night as Trump called in to talk with CNN’s Don Lemon.

During Thursday’s presidential debate, Kelly pressed Trump about misogynistic, sexist comments he made in the past, such as calling some women “fat pigs, dogs, slobs, and disgusting animals.”

Trump slammed Kelly, saying her questions were “ridiculous” and “off-base.”

“You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes,” Trump told CNN’s Don Lemon on Friday night. “Blood coming out of her wherever.”

The real estate mogul elaborated in a statement later Saturday morning, claiming he said “‘blood coming out of her eyes and whatever,’ meaning nose.”

You can listen to his comment in the video here.

Several GOP competitors took to Twitter to condemn Trump’s comments:

Additionally, Erick Erickson has disinvited Trump as the lead speaker at his Red State Gathering tonight and replaced Trump with Megyn Kelly:

Quote Of The Day: Ben Carson On Donald Trump

Talking to Fox News radio, GOP presidential hopeful Ben Carson expressed his concerns about a Donald Trump independent run for the White House:

“I’m hoping that he will at some point come to an understanding that if he runs as a third-party candidate, he will essentially hand the election to the progressives, who will get two or three Supreme Court picks, and America will be gone as we know it. I hope he realizes the seriousness of the situation.”

Clinton Campaign Weighs In On Last Night’s GOP Debate

The Clinton campaign weighs in on last night’s GOP debate.

The first debate of the 2016 election cycle is complete, and there is no doubt that Republicans reminded Americans that their platform and stances are throwing us back into the past. Republicans are out of touch and out of date on immigration reform, women’s health, the economy, and MUCH more.

Matt Baume Recaps LGBT Issues At Last Night’s GOP Debate

All-around smart guy Matt Baume recaps LGBT issues at last night’s 1st 2016 GOP debate:

You can see the fear in the GOP candidates’ faces when LGBT issues come up in a debate.

Only a few years ago, bashing LGBTs was red meat for fundraising. Now, their sound bites are fumbling, contradictory, and just outright gibberish.

Here’s what three candidates had to say about LGBTs, and how all three got it wrong.

How Taiwanese Animators Viewed The GOP Debate

From the hysterical Taiwanese Animators:

America tuned in last night to watch 10 Republican hopefuls explain why they should be president.

The top polling candidates were invited to participate, including pack leader and billionaire businessman Donald Trump.

Moderator Megyn Kelly hit Trump for calling women fat pigs. Trump said that was true of Rosie O’Donnell and he didn’t care if Kelly didn’t like his comments about women.

Second-in-the-polls Jeb Bush said he should lead the GOP because his nickname is VETO Corleone in Florida while ninth-in-the-polls Chris Christie said he should lead because he cut New Jersey’s taxes and balanced the budget.

Rand Paul said he would end warrantless surveillance and that prompted Chris Christie to attack, who said Rand Paul was naive about terrorists and the tools needed to fight them.

But all eyes were on Trump, who was asked why he had donated money to Hillary Clinton. Trump said he donates to politicians to call in favors such as demanding Hillary Clinton to attend his weddings.

Pressed by Chris Wallace about his four bankruptcies, Trump was unapologetic about using the laws to build $10 billion in wealth.

At the end of the debate, God used Facebook video to ask the candidates whether they hear him.

And despite all that was fired at Trump nothing would stick. Will the billionaire extend his lead in the polls?

Donald Trump Lashes Out At Fox News After Debate

The Donald, unhappy with his “treatment” at the GOP goes after the Fox News debate moderators on Twitter with Megyn Kelly squarely in his crosshairs.

(Trump loves to retweet other people’s insults on his behalf as a passive aggressive thing.)

GOP Hopefuls Reveal Their “Debate Rituals”

From Independent Journal Review:

Before 2016 Republican presidential contenders engage in the ritual of debate, they perform their own personal rituals of debate. Here’s what goes on before they hit the stage.

Bustle notes that although the video was just uploaded to YouTube, several of the featured candidates here are not going to be a part of the main debate taking place tonight at 9PM on Fox News. But those not in the “top 10” will get a chance to share their views on an earlier chat at 5PM.
