Some news items you might have missed: • The Advocate: California’s first state-wide survey of LGBTQ+ older adults showed overall high levels of satisfaction with their quality of life but also concerns about the well-being of transgender women. • Boy Culture: The GLBT Historical Society today launches Focus on Living: Portraits of Americans with HIV and AIDS, a new photography exhibition by San Francisco’s Roslyn Banish featuring portraits of people living with HIV including interviews. • Nepotism I: Donald Trump announced that he would name Charles Kushner, real estate exec and father-in-law of his daughter Ivanka, to serve as ambassador to France. Kushner received a pardon from Trump during his final days in office after Kushner had pleaded guilty in 2004 to 16 counts of tax evasion.

Nepotism II: Trump also announced he would name Massad Boulos, the father-in-law of his daughter Tiffany, as a senior adviser covering Arab and Middle Eastern affairs. Boulos describes himself as a “friend” of Sleiman Frangieh, currently Hezbollah’s endorsed candidate for Lebanon’s presidential vacancy. • Pink News: The U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments regarding gender-affirming care for transgender minors on Wednesday (December 4). The families of several trans children will appeal to the Court to strike down a ban on gender-affirming care in Tennessee. • OUT Magazine: Wicked: Part One is now the highest-grossing movie of all time based on a Broadway musical, having made $214.3 million at the domestic box office as of Friday, November 29. The previous title-holder was Grease, which has a lifetime gross of $190 million at the domestic box office.
