MTV’s “True Life” Focuses On Straight Men Who Perform In Gay Porn

Since its first episode in 1998, MTV’s True Life has provided a window into the struggles, hopes, and dreams of young people.

Narrated solely by its characters, each episode documents the unusual–and often remarkable–circumstances of real individuals. We’ve given all of them–and hundreds of others–the opportunity to tell their own stories directly to their peers.

This upcoming episode focuses on rising stars in the gay porn industry who happen to be straight. Will the pressures of every day life force them to reconsider their lucrative careers?

“How far would you go for money? On this episode of True Life, you ‘ll meet two straight guys willing to do gay porn for a living.

Luke has a massive online following but he’s managed to keep it a secret from his girlfriend.

Ben is a married family man who recently started performing in gay sex films to support his kids…His wife Crystal thinks it’s hot.

But will everyone understand their unusual lifestyle? And is Ben willing to commit to a long-term career in porn? They’re rising stars in the gay porn industry, but will the pressures of every day life force them to reconsider their lucrative careers?”

The deep South really likes watching online gay porn

Buzzfeed and online porn giant Pornhub recently teamed up to find the states that stream the most gay porn from the prolific site.  In the map above, the orange states indicate where same-sex marriage is still banned and the pink states show where the gays have access to marriage equality

What they found was that the highest levels of gay porn viewers are in the South, where, incidentally, marriage equality is outlawed by the states homophobes.

Holding the number one position, with a record 5.58% gay users, is a state where “sodomy” is still illegal: Mississippi.

Louisiana is closely on its rear at 5.44%, and Georgia with 5.38%.

Before Duck Dynasty – creator/producer Scott Gurney starred in homoerotic film

Duck Dynasty creator and producer Scott Gurney

Before Scott Gurney created the A+E Networks’s Duck Dynasty, he starred as a gay porn star in a 2001 movie called The Fluffer.  This adds an interesting twist to the ongoing saga of Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson being suspended for anti-gay comments made to GQ Magazine earlier this week.

The Fluffer, which was an independent film that played at the 2001 Toronto International Film Festival.  The credit is currently listed on Gurney’s IMDb page

According to Buzzfeed, calls to Gurney Productions and A+E for comment have gone unanswered.

Gurney’s character in The Fluffer is gay-for-pay and a meth addict. He becomes the object of obsession for a male film student who gets a job as his on-set fluffer.
