Elizabeth Warren To Boston Pride-Goers: “The Only Way We Beat Bullies Is We Stand Up And Fight Back”

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, dressed in a waving feather headdress, told Boston LGBT Pride celebrants today to mobilize against hate, especially as espoused by Trump:

“This is a day of celebration. I have my boa in the car, I am raring to march in the parade. But there are big fights to come,” Warren said. “There is a man who hopes to be the leader of this great nation and he hopes to get there by hating others…The only way we beat bullies is we stand up and fight back.”

Sen. Elizabeth Warren To Meet With Hillary Clinton Today

First, there was Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s blistering take-down of Donald Trump yesterday afternoon.

That was followed by Warren’s full-throated endorsement of Hillary Clinton for president last night on the Rachel Maddow Show.

Today, the Washington Post reports that Warren will be meeting with Clinton:

Elizabeth Warren and Hillary Clinton will meet privately Friday morning, according to two knowledgeable Democrats. The sit-down, coming just hours after the Massachusetts senator formally endorsed the presumptive Democratic nominee, will fuel speculation about her prospects as a potential vice presidential pick.

The women have had several conversations over the past month, including one that lasted around half an hour, sources told The Washington Post. The conversations were broad and focused on large topics and issues, rather than the nitty-gritty of the campaign. Their staffs have been engaged in more tactical discussions.

The two women do not have a particularly deep relationship, but that could change as Clinton rallies Democrats around her in the wake of winning the Democratic nomination in recent days. There were three big endorsements that could have meaningfully helped Clinton wrap up the nomination battle: Warren, President Obama and Vice President Biden. Clinton secured all three on Thursday.

Senate Minority leader Harry Reid is pushing hard for Warren to be Hillary’s veep pick.

I have to say, the speech yesterday afternoon was absolutely vice-presidential “attack dog” material.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren Endorses Hillary Clinton For President

Sen. Elizabeth Warren speaking to Rachel Maddow tonight:

“I’m ready. I am ready to get in this fight and work my heart out for Hillary Clinton to become the next president of the United States — and to make sure that Donald Trump never gets anyplace close to the White House.”

Warren’s endorsement comes on the same day that President Obama officially offered his own unequivocal support to the former Secretary of State.

Elizabeth Warren To Endorse Hillary Clinton For President

Reuters is reporting tonight that Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren will endorse Democratic presumptive nominee Hillary Clinton some time in the next couple of weeks.

Advisers to Warren, a fiery critic of Wall Street and a popular figure among progressive Democrats, have been in close contact with Clinton’s campaign team and the conversations have increased in frequency in recent weeks, the sources said.

Warren, 66, represents her home state of Massachusetts in the U.S. Senate. The sources said that foremost in her thinking is how best to help the Democratic Party defeat the presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump in the Nov. 8 presidential election and advance issues such as income inequality which top Warren’s agenda.

An endorsement of Clinton could come within a week or two, one of the sources said. Clinton has been appealing for Democratic Party unity. On Twitter over the weekend, Warren echoed that call and emphasized the importance of the party coming together to beat Trump.

“Get ready, Donald,” she tweeted. “We’re coming.”

Warren has stayed neutral in the Democratic primary race, notably remaining the only woman senator not throwing her support behind the first woman presidential nominee of a major political party.

Many progressives would LOVE for Hillary to pick Warren as her running mate. Most say it would go a long way to healing some of the hurt feelings among Bernie Sanders’ supporters.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren Tweetstorms The Donald After “Goofy” Insult

A few days after Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren used the words “narcissistic” and “racist” to describe presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump on her Twitter account, The Donald slapped back with a few jabs of his own.

Not one to back down, Warren hit back on Twitter, calling Trumps response “lame.”

Sen. Elizabeth Warren: “Donald Trump Is A Loser”

Sen. Elizabeth Warren

Progressive lioness Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts calls GOP front-runner Donald Trump as a loser in a Facebook posting that has gone viral within minutes.

Let’s be honest – Donald Trump is a loser. Count all his failed businesses. See how he kept his father’s empire afloat by cheating people with scams like Trump University and by using strategic corporate bankruptcy (excuse me, bankruptcies) to skip out on debt. Listen to the experts who’ve concluded he’s so bad at business that he might have more money today if he’d put his entire inheritance into an index fund and just left it alone.

Trump seems to know he’s a loser. His embarrassing insecurities are on parade: petty bullying, attacks on women, cheap racism, and flagrant narcissism. But just because Trump is a loser everywhere else doesn’t mean he’ll lose this election. People have been underestimating his campaign for nearly a year – and it’s time to wake up.

People talk about how “this is the most important election” in our lifetime every four years, and it gets stale. But consider what hangs in the balance. Affordable college. Accountability for Wall Street. Healthcare for millions of Americans. The Supreme Court. Big corporations and billionaires paying their fair share of taxes. Expanded Social Security. Investments in infrastructure and medical research and jobs right here in America. The chance to turn our back on the ugliness of hatred, sexism, racism and xenophobia. The chance to be a better people.

More than anyone we’ve seen before come within reach of the presidency, Donald Trump stands ready to tear apart an America that was built on values like decency, community, and concern for our neighbors. Many of history’s worst authoritarians started out as losers – and Trump is a serious threat. The way I see it, it’s our job to make sure he ends this campaign every bit the loser that he started it.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren: It’s Time To Make The Government Work For The Rest Of America

Appearing on The Late Show last night, Sen. Elizabeth Warren explains to Stephen Colbert what is wrong with the government of the richest country in the world.

“The game is rigged – our country and how it’s run. Here we are the richest country in the world and we have so much going for us and yet we have a federal government that works great for millionaires, works great for billionaires, works great for giant corporations, for anybody that can hire an army of lobbyists, an army of lawyers, give lots of campaign money. For the rest of America, it’s just not working and it’s time to take that government back and make it work for us.”

Colbert’s response? “Well, it certainly doesn’t sound like you’re running for president…”

VP Joe Biden Consults Sen. Elizabeth Warren On 2016 Prez Run

Political websites are abuzz that Vice-President Joe Biden had an unscheduled, secret meeting with progressive favorite Sen. Elizabeth Warren about a possible run for president in 2016.

Would they team up? Biden/Warren 2016?

Would her supporters, via her blessing, give him the springboard to jump into the Democratic race so late in the game?

It’s difficult to see what political “space” Biden would occupy in the Democratic realm. He’s not going to “out-Sanders” Sen. Bernie Sanders, so he can’t run left of him. So, you have to wonder where in the spectrum he would pull support, other than from Warren supports were she to endorse Biden.

Plus, it would put President Obama in the uncomfortable position of supporting either his sitting VP or his former Secretary of State.

We shall see.
