Anderson Cooper talks to Arizona state Rep. John Kavanaugh who defends his vote for the “License to Discriminate” bill this week.
Mr. Kavanaugh keeps trying to sell the bill as what he would LIKE the world to see it as, but Anderson Cooper keeps bringing his questions around to what reality will be like in Arizona under SB-1062
Legal expert Kenji Yoshino explains the history and reality of the flawed bill. As Kavanaugh continues to say SB-1062 is just a “tweak,” Yoshino explains the bill actually shifts the matter from government participation to one individual denying another individual. According to the legal expert, this is no “tweak” but actually a large shift from what was written in law before.
What is happening here is every day political spin. The GOP Rep. is trying to get out the message that this bill “isn’t bad at all” to make it seem palatable to middle of the road Arizonans.
He’s lying. He just wants to see the bill signed into law, and then he won’t care.

In case you don’t see it very often, here’s an example of the kind of douche bag comments the “pro-marriage” anti-gay folks put out into the world in an effort to diminish LGBT rights.
This is Matt Barber writing for World Net Daily regarding NBA-er Jason Collins recent coming out:
“Collins had a girlfriend of eight years. In fact, they were engaged to be married before he dumped her. This would make him ‘bisexual,’ then, wouldn’t it?
“So – and bear with me here – if being “gay” makes him a hero, does being ‘bi’ make him a superhero? That. Is. Awesome! I don’t know: ‘Captain Switch-Hitter’? (Sorry for the mixed metaphor.)
“Then again, if he’s ‘bisexual,’ might that actually diminish his heroism? Would it make him only half a hero, or would it just cancel out altogether, making him ordinary again? It’s all so confusing.
“Seriously, I’d encourage the next pro athlete engaged in some other hitherto-considered-deviant-sexual-lifestyle to ride the wave. Who knows, in today’s ever-‘progressive’ culture, I could see President Obama awarding the Medal of Honor to the first polo player courageous enough to admit having a thing for his horse.”
Today, during President Obama’s speech on immigration, a reporter rudely interrupted the president.
The “reporter” was Neil Munro from the anti-gay Daily Caller, the teabagger site founded by Tucker Carlson.
Obama properly smacked him down, but let’s hope Press Secretary Jay Carney is booting Munro from the White House press corps right now.
For those who may not know, it is customary for the President of the United States to finish comments before taking questions.
I think this was a planned “moment” to get attention for Tucker Carlson’s little website. Whatever, it is rude to interrupt the President while speaking. Especially when you are the press. The press is meant to report the news, not make it.
UPDATE: The “reporter” says he had no intention of interrupting the President – he thought he was done. “I timed the question believing the president was closing his remarks, because naturally I have no intention of interrupting the President of the United States.” He was about 8 minutes early…
However, Brianna Keilar of CNN says “I was two people over from Neil Munro. No one thought the president was wrapping up. I give that statement a great big Cow Pie Award.”
