Donald Trump: “I Know Nothing About Wikileaks”

As I reported earlier today, Wikileaks founder Julian Assange was arrested in London today after hiding out in the Ecuadorian embassy since 2012.

Asked by the press today if he “still loves Wikileaks,” Donald Trump pretended to “know nothing about Wikileaks.”

And yet, back in October 2016, Trump extolled the virtues of Wikileaks after they released thousands of emails from the Democratic National Committee.

Trump repeatedly said he “loved” the organization when it was releasing emails related to Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

Trump Oct 2016: “WikiLeaks, I love WikiLeaks.”

Trump Oct 2016: “This WikiLeaks is like a treasure trove,”

Trump Nov 2016: “Boy, I love reading those WikiLeaks.”

Trump Tweets Fake Approval Ratings

Donald Trump must have been thrilled as he tweeted a screen-shot from Lou Dobbs‘ Fox Business show reporting his approval number is at 55% from the Georgetown Institute of Politics and Public Service. Only problem is: it's wrong. The director of the poll followed up Trump's tweet with one of his own announcing the mistake. Trump's approval rating from the poll is actually 43% - which is about where he's topped out for two years. The 55% number is his disapproval rating.

Donald Trump must have been thrilled as he tweeted a screen-shot from Lou Dobbs‘ Fox Business show reporting his approval number is at 55% from the Georgetown Institute of Politics and Public Service.

Only problem is: it’s wrong.

The director of the poll followed up Trump’s tweet with one of his own announcing the mistake just 40 minutes later.

Trump’s approval rating from the poll is actually 43% – which is about where he’s topped out for two years.

The 55% number is his disapproval rating.

That same poll showed 49% say Trump’s style and approach are insulting and wrong; only 27% approved of his “style” and “approach.”

Only 38% said Trump deserves re-election.

Trump “Batman” Campaign Ad Taken Down For Copyright Infringement

After Donald Trump illegally used music from The Dark Knight Rises soundtrack for a 2020 campaign video, Warner Bros. had the video taken down for copyright infringement.

After Donald Trump illegally used music from The Dark Knight Rises soundtrack for a 2020 campaign video, Warner Bros. had the video taken down for copyright infringement.

Now, Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale is pointing the finger at CNN’s connection to AT&T for the removal.

Parscale tweeted an image of the dead link with the caption, “Sad to see an ⁦@ATT⁩ owned company pull such a great video made by an every day American in good fun. AT&T now owns ⁦@CNN⁩ and is positioning themselves as a weapon of the left.”

CNN is owned by WarnerMedia News & Sports, which is owned by AT&T, which also owns the Warner Bros. entertainment company.

The fact of the matter is Trump’s campaign has repeatedly run into the same situation using music without permission by its creators.

Neal Young, Rihanna, Elton John, REM, Adele, Axel Rose, Pharrell and more have all asked Trump to stop using their music as they feel it represents an endorsement of Trump.

Everyone is talking about the sudden departure of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen this past weekend.

She showed up for a meeting at the White House with Donald Trump on Sunday, and before she could even make her resignation public, Trump beat her via Twitter.

According to the New York Times:

“I have determined that it is the right time for me to step aside,” Ms. Nielsen said in a resignation letter. “I hope that the next secretary will have the support of Congress and the courts in fixing the laws which have impeded our ability to fully secure America’s borders and which have contributed to discord in our nation’s discourse.”

Ms. Nielsen had requested the meeting to plan “a way forward” at the border, in part thinking she could have a reasoned conversation with Mr. Trump about the role, according to three people familiar with the meeting. She came prepared with a list of things that needed to change to improve the relationship with the president.

Mr. Trump in recent weeks had asked Ms. Nielsen to close the ports of entry along the border and to stop accepting asylum seekers, which Ms. Nielsen found ineffective and inappropriate. While the 30-minute meeting was cordial, Mr. Trump was determined to ask for her resignation. After the meeting, she submitted it.

This morning, folks believe Nielsen’s tenure in the Trump administration could be a “reputation killer.”

“Kirstjen Nielsen I think is a great example of what happens when you go to work for Donald Trump,” said CNN’s Jeffrey Toobin. “He is the great reputation killer. Here is this woman who was a reasonably admired bureaucrat. For the rest of her life people will look at her and think, ‘Oh, that’s the woman who put children in cages. That’s the woman who broke up families across the border.’ You know what? They’ll be right.”

The NY Times also notes that Trump reportedly urged Nielsen to take illegal actions to tamp down what he saw as the immigration ’emergency.”

The president called Ms. Nielsen at home early in the mornings to demand that she take action to stop migrants from entering the country, including doing things that were clearly illegal, such as blocking all migrants from seeking asylum.

She repeatedly noted the limitations imposed on her department by federal laws, court settlements and international obligations.

Those responses only infuriated Mr. Trump further.

Democratic White House hopeful Mayor Pete Buttigieg tells USA Today he’s not sure if Donald Trump is a Christian.

Does Buttigieg think Trump is a Christian? “I’m reluctant to comment on another person’s faith, but I would say it is hard to look at this president’s actions and believe that they’re the actions of somebody who believes in God,” he said.

“I just don’t understand how you can be as worshipful of your own self as he is and be prepared to humble yourself before God. I’ve never seen him humble himself before anyone. And the exaltation of yourself, especially a self that’s about wealth and power, could not be more at odds with at least my understanding of the teachings of the Christian faith.”

While Buttigieg is a gay man, married in the Episcopal Church he attends, he urges those who support LBGTQ rights to “beckon people onto the right side of history (rather) than … drag people there. If someone feels harassed and put upon by us, at the very moment we’re demanding tolerance and acceptance, one consequence is that we can leave them with nowhere to go but the religious right.”

Trump Continues To Lie About Aid To Puerto Rico

Donald Trump simply can’t stop trolling Puerto Rico on social media.

The Trumpster went on a long Twitter rant about the U.S. territory calling the local leaders there “incompetent” or “corrupt.”

The $91 billion figure Trump quotes is an estimate of the DAMAGES to the island.

So far, according to the Washington Post, Puerto Rico has only received about a quarter of the total amount of money allocated to the island — $11.2 billion.

Officials told The Fact Checker that the president was referring to an internal Office of Management and Budget estimate of the potential liabilities over the life of the disaster that would need to be committed under the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act of 1988. The estimate was described as a high-end estimate subject to change year by year.

Currently, the estimated Stafford liabilities amount to $50 billion. Adding the $41 billion in announced funding to the $50 billion in Stafford liabilities gets you to $91 billion.

But none of that matters to Trump. He continues to rant and groan using incorrect numbers and #fakefacts.

US House Approves Resolution Denouncing Trump Transgender Military Ban

By a vote of 238-185, the U.S. House approved a non-binding resolution Thursday morning rebuking Donald Trump’s plan to ban transgender military service members.

By a vote of 238-185, the U.S. House approved a non-binding resolution Thursday morning rebuking Donald Trump’s plan to ban transgender military service members.

Introduced by Rep. Joseph Kennedy III (D-Mass), the measure was supported by the entire Democratic caucus and was joined by five Republicans after a one-hour debate, according to the Washington Post.

Calling the misguided policy “targeted discrimination,” Kennedy said the message being sent by the House vote was to tell trans people “that they cannot be banned from military service because of who they are.”

House Resolution 124 begins with the simple statement, “Expressing opposition to banning service in the Armed Forces by openly transgender individuals.”

The resolution notes that trans service members “have served openly since 2016, bravely defending our Nation with distinction while preserving unit cohesion and contributing to military readiness,” and that thousands of trans Americans are actively serving in every branch of the Armed Forces and Reserves.

HR 124 also underscores the public testimony of all five military Chiefs of Staff who say the existing policy “has had no adverse effect on military readiness.”

The resolution comes as the Pentagon prepares to begin enforcing the trans ban on April 12 after the last of four injunctions blocking the policy from being implemented was lifted last week by a three-judge panel in the D.C. circuit.

The policy will prohibit people who have undergone gender transition from enlisting.

Current trans military service members will be required to serve as their biological gender unless they have begun gender transition before the new policy begins on April 12.
