Republican White House hopeful Donald Trump mocked Sen. Marco Rubio today when he tweeted the above graphic.

Marco Rubio seems like a nice boy. Well mannered but bought & paid for. JEB and the PACS sat him down and taught him all that fancy government stuff. “RINO RUBE” repeats it well! Good Boy”

But sorry, little “RUBE”. You just don’t have the swagger to negotiate with Vladimir Putin and…actually run a country.

Maybe one day when you’re all grown up but for now, a real man will do the job. Now drink your milk and eat your cookies. Nappy time!

News Round-Up: September 30, 2015

Some news stories you may have missed:

• Two minutes of smile – Feel good video about a typical day with woofy dads, Corey and Rocco, and their adorable son Forge.

• Regarding the “Kim Davis meeting Pope Francis” story – does it help to know he also met Mark Wahlberg? I’m guessing that doesn’t mean the Pope endorses the TED movies or the Funky Bunch.

• Rising star in the Indiana Republican Party, Rep. Jud McMillin, resigned from office after sexually explicit video was texted from his phone. McMillin was one of the co-sponsors of the state’s ill-received Religious Freedom Restoration Act.

• Donald Trump released his proposed revisal of the tax code which The Tax Foundation says would cost the U.S. $12 Trillion over ten years. No surprise – the wealthy would gain a LOT.

• Check out this most excellent mega-mix mashup of Madonna videos set to her new album Rebel Heart.

Mixed Results For Donald Trump In New USA Today/Suffolk University Poll

A new poll by USA TODAY/Suffolk University shows Donald Trump continues at the top of that poll with strong staying power.

Ben Carson and Carly Fiorina share second place with 13% each, and Sen. Marco Rubio lands at #4 with 9%.

Jeb Bush and Sen. Ted Cruz lag in 5th and 6th with 8% and 6% respectively.

I have to note, though, that the results come from polling 380 likely Republican primary voters. That’s not a huge number to gauge what I’d call “the national mood.”

Here’s some cognitive dissonance for you, though. In spite of strong support, check out the first words that come to mind when describing Trump and Fiorina.

Thank goodness for Vice-President Joe Biden calling out Donald Trump’s “no facts – insult, insult, insult” approach to campaigning.

• Out bobsledder hunk Simon Dunn pens an essay about the time the 6’1′ 216 pound athlete was gay-bashed to the point of being hospitalized. Bu you know the saying – the best revenge is good living 🙂

• In the wake of Gov. Scott Walker dropping out of the GOP race for prez, guess who picked up the lion’s share of his support (not that there was a whole lot to begin with)?

• A young gay man, blamed by his mother for “spreading gayness” to his younger brother, steps up to adopt his bro rather than see him live in a home of hate.

• Conservative pundit Steve Deace calls Sen. Lindsey Graham “transgendered.”

• Did you hear the one where Donald Trump criticized Sen. Marco Rubio and got booed for it? It was a new experience for The Donald.
