Cher On Donald Trump: “He’s The Ultimate Ego”

Cher pulls no punches in summing up the current presidential race regarding former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and billionaire Donald Trump to Billboard:

“Believe whatever you want about Hillary; whatever she is or isn’t, she’s tough,” Cher says.

“I don’t like anything about Donald Trump. It’s a joke at a time when you really need serious people. I don’t think he wants the job, or I don’t think he actually wants to do the work. I think he wants the job because it’s the ultimate deal, and he’s the ultimate ego. I don’t know that I’ve heard or seen anybody like him, and I also never thought that Americans would go for someone like him, a person of his quality.”

New Music: Lady Gaga “Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)”

This performance is from GREAT PERFORMANCES “Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga: Cheek to Cheek LIVE!” which premieres on PBS October 24th.

Smokin-hot, latin-tinged jazz cover of Cher’s “Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)” by Lady Gaga, in full-on Cher drag.

There’s a lot that COULD have gone wrong here. Without the musical sensibility Gaga brings, plus her commitment to the lyrics without commenting, she wins the day.

This is really pretty great. I love covers that not only re-invent, but succeed in the new exploration.

Whatever doubts you think you have about Gaga, she delivers here.

p.s. you know Cher is a very vocal fan of Lady Gaga, so when the queen approves… 🙂

The Tony Bennett/Lady Gaga collaboration album – Cheek To Cheekis available now.

Cher on the loss of Joan Rivers

Translating the Twitter-ese, I believe what the Cher inferred was: “I’m proud of this, but loss is crazy. She’s supposed to be on stage or making me howl on QVC. She gave me 5 bracelets I loved.”
