Last month I wrote about Foxcatcher subject material Mark Schutlz, who initially praised the Channing Tatum/Mark Ruffalo film as brilliant, then went on to completely attack the flick and director Bennett Miller on social media saying “I HATE EVERYTHING THAT SCUM TOUCHES. EVERYTHING.”
Now that the film is a five-time Oscar nominee (Best Director (Miller), Best Actor (Carell), Best Supporting Actor (Mark Ruffalo), Best Original Screenplay (E. Max Frye and Dan Futterman) and Best Achievement in Makeup and Hairstyling), Schultz has had a change of heart.
Or change of mind.
Or, change of disorder.
NOW, he loves, loves, loves the film again. And has taken again to social media to not only love on the movie but say it could help the world of wrestling.
See tweets below.
Bennett Miller is the greatest director ever. 3rd time’s the charm. He’s due an oscar. — Mark Schultz (@MarkSchultzy) January 18, 2015
I feel terrible about what I did to Bennett. I should have followed God, not man. — Mark Schultz (@MarkSchultzy) January 18, 2015
I apologize to you before the world Bennett. I’m sorry. — Mark Schultz (@MarkSchultzy) January 18, 2015
Thank you Bennett Miller for honoring my great brother Dave Schultz. — Mark Schultz (@MarkSchultzy) January 19, 2015
Foxcatcher is going to help wrestling. There’s so many positives and no negatives. When I fought and Dave wasn’t there was so emotional — Mark Schultz (@MarkSchultzy) January 18, 2015
Channing Tatum GOT ROBBED. HE WAS SO GOOD IT WAS UNREAL. I’m amazed he wasn’t nominated. — Mark Schultz (@MarkSchultzy) January 18, 2015
DC Comics plans to pay tribute to Hollywood with several upcoming covers that pay homage to some classic movie posters. Represented in the group of comic book covers are Hollywood blockbusters 300, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and Purple Rain.
However, the Justice League #40 is catching many an eye as it gives Superman and company a chance to emulate the movie poster for the 2012 male stripper movie, Magic Mike.
Artist Emanuela Lupacchino, gives fans Aquaman, Batman, Superman, Green Lantern and Flash recreating the now famous poses from the Channing Tatum hit film.
After last night’s election woes, I can certainly use some Channing Tatum today.
Magic Mike star Channing Tatum talks to The Hollywood Reporter about his new film Foxcatcher, irritation at tabloid rumors and what’s in store for audiences in the upcoming Magic Mike XXL.
Says Channing in the article: “I’m wholly changed from where I was at the beginning,” he says. “I have a flashlight, and this is a really big room.”
Tatum was in Las Vegas for a long weekend, in the company of what appeared to be executives. It was reported here that he was spotted having lunch with a group on Monday at Spago inside the Forum Shops at Caesars.
Then the plot thickened when he showed up Monday at the Hard Rock, with men in suits and, according to a spy, a top Hard Rock executive.
Magic Mike was a huge Hollywood success, with a global gross of $167 million based on an investment of $7 million.
The sequel – Magic Mike XXL – is currently filming under the direction of Gregory Jacobs. Most of the original cast – including Tatum, Joe Manganiello, Matt Bomer and Alex Pettyfer – are returning.
Magic Mike XXL is scheduled for release Summer 2015.
