Department Of Justice: Hillary Clinton Had Authority To Delete Personal Emails
Not many folks picked up on this story at the end of the week wherein the Department of Justice issued a statement that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton broke no laws and was within her rights to delete personal emails.
“There is no question that former Secretary Clinton had authority to delete personal emails without agency supervision. She appropriately could have done so even if she were working on a government server.”
Gee, wonder why no one paid attention to this? Things that make you go “hmm…”

Donald Trump Interviews “Donald Trump” On The Tonight Show
Current front runner for the GOP nomination for president, Donald Trump, does his own late night comedy bit with Jimmy Fallon of The Tonight Show, in an attempt to show his humorous side.
In the clip, Fallon (as “Trump”) interviews himself in the mirror (Trump) to somewhat comedic effect. Trump is definitely Trump here, but the jokes run out of steam after a while.
Still, good on Trump for being game enough to do the bit.

Vice-President Joe Biden On A 2016 Run For White House: “I’d Be Lying If I Said I Knew I Was There”
Vice-President Joe Biden made a visit to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night for a wide ranging interview that included his biggest hints about whether or not he will run for the Democratic nomination for president.

Repeatedly touching on his parents, his faith and his emotional fragility from the recent death of his son Beau, Mr. Biden told Mr. Colbert that no “man or woman should run for president” without being able to promise voters that “you have my whole heart, my whole soul, my energy, and my passion.”
“Nobody has a right, in my view, to seek that office unless they are willing to give it 110 percent of who they are,” Mr. Biden told Mr. Colbert.
Perhaps the clearest hint came when Biden said, “I’d be lying if I said that I knew I was there.”

CNN Announces The Line-Up For Second GOP Debate
CNN announced the rankings of the GOP presidential candidates today, and Carly Fiorina makes the cut to move up to the “adults” table.
The top eleven will debate at 8Pm at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley. The lower five will get a chance to make their cases at an earlier debate at 6PM.
The overall rankings based on an average of all qualifying polls for the 16 candidates who met the requirements for participation are:

A new Quinnipiac University poll gives Sanders a one point lead over former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton 41%-40%.
And a new NBC News/Marist poll shows Sanders ahead 41% to Clinton’s 32%

Ben Carson Questions Donald Trump’s Faith; Trump On Carson “He’s An OK Doctor”
Donald Trump practically loses his mind calling in to CNN’s “New Day” with Chris Cuomo this morning to slap back at Dr. Ben Carson, who yesterday appeared to question the depth or reality of Trump’s religious faith.
On Wednesday, reporters asked Carson what differences there were between the two candidates. From CNN:
“Probably the biggest thing — I’ve realized where my success has come from and I don’t in anyway deny my faith in God,” Carson said.
He explained what he meant by quoting what he said was one of his favorite bible verses.
“By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches and honor and life and that’s a very big part of who I am. I don’t get that impression with him,” Carson said of Trump. “Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t get that.”
“Who is he to question my faith?” Trump asked this morning. “He knows nothing about me. I am a man of faith.”
“I hardly know Ben Carson. I’m a believer, big league in God. I will hit back on that.”
“I don’t think he’s a great religious figure. If you look at his faith, you’re not going to make it very far.”
Trump also addressed Carson’s personal energy as problematic. “He makes Bush look like the energizer bunny. Ben Carson is not going to be your next president.”
Donald Trump: When I Insulted Carly Fiorina’s Face, I Meant Her “Persona”
A day doesn’t go by where we don’t have another personal insult thrown out by GOP White House hopeful Donald Trump.
This time the victim was former Hewlett-Packard exec Carly Fiorina (the only female in the Republican pack) and her appearance.

In a new interview in Rolling Stone released late Wednesday, GOP frontrunner Trump said of the former HP chief “Look at that face!?”
“Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?!” the magazine quotes Trump as saying while he and his staff watch a television appearance by Fiorina.
The real estate mogul reportedly added: “I mean, she’s a woman, and I’m not s’posedta say bad things, but really, folks, come on. Are we serious?”
When Fiorina was asked about the comment on Megyn Kelly’s FOX News show last night, the former HP exec downplayed the issue.
“Maybe, just maybe, I’m getting under his skin a little bit because I am climbing in the polls,” she said.
Addressing the story this morning, Trump attempted to back pedal. You see, when he said “her face” what he meant was “her persona.”
“Probably I did say something like that about Carly,” Trump said. “I’m talking about persona. I’m not talking about look.”

Donald Trump: I May Have Dodged The Draft But My Prep School Felt Like Being In The Military
Donald Trump has raised eyebrows for saying that although he dodged the draft during the Vietnam war, he feels his prep school experience made him feel like he was in the military.

“My number was so incredible and it was a very high draft number. Anyway so I never had to do that, but I felt that I was in the military in the true sense because I dealt with those people,” Trump told Michael D’Antonio, the author of the forthcoming book “Never Enough: Donald Trump and the Pursuit of Success,” according to a preview in the New York Times.
Trump attended the New York Military Academy from eighth grade through the end of high school where he participated in military drills and encountered some instructors who had served in the military, according to the Times.
He told D’Antonio that at the academy, he got “more training militarily than a lot of the guys that go into the military.”
The comments didn’t land lightly at the Pentagon where more than one soldier had a less than enthusiastic response.
“Did he have to swear-in to get into his school?” one soldier asked.
Another soldier responded saying, “Well it could be true. It depends on what kind of pillow fights he got into.”
