Seattle: LGBTQ Couples Set World Record For Vow Renewals

56 LGBTQIA+ couples from all over gathered in Seattle to renew their vows on May 30 in what’s become a new world record in celebration of queer love. Kicking off Pride season, the vow renewal celebration took place aboard a decked-out cruise vessel dubbed the “Love For All Boat.” The city’s tourism organization – Visit Seattle – hosted the extravaganza in celebration of the upcoming 50th anniversary of Pride in Seattle. The nuptials were led by the aptly named Justice Mary Yu (Washington state’s first openly gay justice).

RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars icon and Seattleite BenDeLaCreme emceed the festivities, treating attendees to an iconic celebratory cake cutting and performance. To honor the occasion and the city’s commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community, Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell declared May 30 as Love For All Day in Seattle. Several city landmarks lit up for the occasion. Proceeds from the event benefited the GSBA Scholarship Fund, which supports local LGBTQIA+ and allied students. Read the full press release here.
