Pride Music: Ty Herndon “That Kind Of Night”

In this edition of Pride Music, I cover the oh-so-hunky country singer Ty Herndon, and his single “That Kind Of Night.”

Released on his album House on Fire, this marked his first album release since coming out as a gay man in 2014.

Speaking to Rolling Stone:

“This album was a new education for me for my future, investing in my life as a songwriter and a producer and getting outside of my comfort zone. And lord knows I got outside of my comfort zone when I came out, but I came outside of my comfort zone to move into a life of pure authenticity. That was most important to me.”

The “What Mattered Most” singer’s first music video from the new album was the musical romp, “That Kind of Night.”

The raucous up-tempo not only threw down uplifting rhythm but effortless, joy-filled vocals from a singer whose voice remains undimmed.

Heyy, it’s a take it easy slow ride / Everything is alright High on us kinda night Heyy, it’s a chase away the sunrise / Pull up to the moonlight Kiss you bout a thousand times / Kinda night

I was born in Fort Worth, Texas, so country music is pretty much imprinted on my DNA. I find this as infectious AF.
