If you go back and review Donald Trump’s time in the White House, you see a lot of turnover in high-level positions like chief of staff, Secretary of Defense, or Secretary of State. Much of that turnover came about because initially Trump didn’t know anything about being president, so he appointed people based on GOP recommendations. But we heard many reports that those experienced individuals would push back on some ideas or orders from Trump they knew were bad or outside the scope of a president’s authority.
