New Music: The Irrepressibles ‘Be Wild’

The Irrepressibles, the creative guise of alt-music songwriter/producer Jamie Irrepressible, drops his atmospheric new single/music video, “Be Wild.”

Set in the streets of his old stomping ground of Salford & Manchester, Jamie describes the new release as “a kind of soundtrack for walking the streets about homosexual adventures” with “a touch of Northern swagger.”

The late-night moody vibe of the music video has an unhurried, captivating quality. Definitely a good match for the sexy groove of the new track.

London based artist and drag performer Joseph Wilson directs the visual calling it “a love letter to the 80’s, to the cruisers, the sex workers and drag kings and queens.”

“It’s a voyeuristic perspective into our world that celebrates our identities and indulges in the eroticism of queer culture,” adds Wilson. “It’s about homosexuality, the joys of gay sex, about being an outcast and being wild.”

As of 2024, The Irrepressibles have amassed over 270 million streams on Spotify and an astonishing 8.1 billion streams on YouTube.
