Out singer/songwriter Jim Verraros debuts his first new collection of music in 14 years – Explicit – an infectious set of bops blending EDM, house, and pop.
The propulsive new EP (which includes remixes of all six tracks) builds on the momentum of his recent chart hits “Take My Bow” and “Pyramid, ” both of which became U.K. dance club staples following their release.
Sexy and self-aware, Explicit moves Verraros into his next chapter with ease and confidence.
In a recent interview with GLAAD, Verraros says Explicit is more than just an album – it’s a statement.
“When I came up with the title, it wasn’t just about the content; it was a state-of-mind,” Verraros shared. “A chance to speak freely, express myself creatively and sing without inhibition, limitation, or censorship.”
Verraros first found the national spotlight as a fan favorite on Season One of American Idol, becoming the first former contestant to publicly come out as queer.
His acclaimed 2005 debut album Rollercoaster plus his winning performance in the Eating Out film series further established his versatility as a multi-layered performer.
Now, with his new EP, Verraros finds himself again at the crossroads of resilience and reinvention.
“Success doesn’t have an expiration date,” says Verraros. “You’re one project away from everything you want. If it still brings you joy, do it.”
Explicit is available now on all major music streaming platforms.
