LuPone Apologizes For ‘Demeaning, Disrespectful’ Remarks Aimed At Colleagues

In a statement posted to her social media accounts, Broadway star Patti LuPone has apologized for ‘disrespectful, demeaning’ remarks she made about fellow Tony winners Kecia Lewis and Audra McDonald in an interview with The New Yorker.

LuPone’s remarks, in which she called Lewis a “bitch” and declared that there was a feud between her and McDonald, have rocked the Broadway community for days.

This comes after over 500 Broadway performers signed an open letter urging the Tony Awards producers to disinvite LuPone for her ‘degrading and misogynistic’ comments.
