Netfilx: DAREDEVIL Season 2 Now Available

Season 2 of Netflix’s DAREDEVIL is now available for streaming! Squee!!!

“Dark forces are tearing Hell’s Kitchen apart once again, but this time Daredevil may have to choose between the city and his friends.”

I enjoyed the first season of the Marvel series, although I had one quibble – the show is shot so darkly it’s difficult to even see the characters sometimes.

Maybe that’s a subtle nod to the lead character’s blindness; maybe it’s just a moody kind of thing. A little more light would really have helped me though 🙂

In any case, I will be watching the new season. Leading man Charlie Cox is extremely watchable.

Paris Terrorist Attack Suspect Captured In Belgium

Salah Abdeslam, also known as “the most wanted man in the world” for organizing the devastating Paris terror attacks in November, has been shot and captured Friday in a raid by police on a Brussels suburb, according to French and Belgian officials.

USA Today has the details:

Abdeslam was wounded in the knee in the operation, according to the deputy mayor o Molenbeek where the raid took place. He said he had received confirmation of Abdeslam’s capture from the Belgian federal prosecutor’s office.

Ahmed El Khannouss told The Associated Press that police were still searching for one person who was holed up in a house.

“Congratulations to the forces of order that allowed the arrest of Salah Abdeslam, during a police operation in Brussels,” Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo said on Twitter.

In Paris, French president Francois Hollande confirmed that the operation underway in Belgian neighborhood was linked to the Paris attacks.

Abdeslam has been on the run since the massacre in Paris in November that left 130 people dead. Most of the Paris terrorists died that night, including Abdeslam’s brother Brahim, who blew himself up. French officials said Salah had discarded his suicide vest and fled the city.

Wall Street Journal Slaps Back At Donald Trump: “The Truth Hurts”

Donald Trump’s war against the conservative Wall Street Journal continues as the Trumpster demanded an apology over the paper’s editorial which declared he would be “a sure loser in November.”

In a new editorial, the WSJ noted that Democrat Hillary Clinton has received more votes during the primary season than Trump has.

Trump took to Twitter (for a change) and said having 16 opponents made a difference.

Via Talking Points Memo:

“Of the 20.35 million GOP primary votes cast so far, he has received 7.54 million, or a mere 37%. Despite the media desire to call him unstoppable, Mr. Trump is the weakest Republican front-runner since Gerald Ford in 1976.”

The editorial board pointed out that though Trump may have diehard followers, his unfavorables are also remarkably high: “The Real Clear Politics polling average shows twice as many adults have negative views (61%) than positive views (32.5%) of Mr. Trump.”

As for Trump’s remark that the newspaper’s editorials don’t matter because “nobody cares” what the Wall Street Journal writes anymore, the board thanked him for being “such a loyal reader.”

I, personally, disagree with the Trumpmeister. Whether 16 or 60 opponents, your supporters can vote for you in the primary. If you really are all that and a bag of chips, you’d have the votes.

Bernie Sanders: I Would Nominate A More Progressive SCOTUS Candidate

Rachel Maddow welcomed Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders to discuss not only his campaign, but also the current fight going on over Supreme Court nominee Merrick Garland between President Obama and Senate Republicans.

Sanders was clear in saying he would definitely support Garland’s nomination, but added that the nominee is not as progressive as he’d like. Sanders went on to say that should be be elected president this fall, he would ask Obama to withdraw the nomination so that a more progressive candidate could be put forward:

“Yes, I would. I think I’m 100% prepared to support Judge Garland. I think he’s clearly very knowledgeable and can serve ably on the Supreme Court. But between you and me, I think there are some more progressive judges out there. I have said over and over again that I do have a litmus test for a Supreme Court justice, and that litmus test is that justice must be loud and clear in telling us that he or she will vote to overturn this disastrous Citizens United Supreme Court decision. I am very worried about the future of American democracy and about the ability of billionaires to buy elections. That is my litmus test, and that’s what I would insist on.”

Gay Twin Shares How He And His Brother Came Out To Each Other And Then Their Mother

From I’m From Driftwood, the documentary project focused on collecting the stories of LGBT folk from everywhere.

After going home with another guy following an awkward experience in a parking lot, Ron Malott knew he was gay.

He went home and he and his twin brother came out to each other. Then came the hard part: telling their mom that they’re gay.

Mom was supportive but expressed regret that Ron might never be a father.

Years later, with her health declining, she moved in with Ron and his husband and their two children. Her last years were surrounded by her son’s family – the family she dreamed he would have.
