Evangelist Calls On Mayor Pete Buttigieg To ‘Repent’ For Being Gay, Twitterverse Claps Back

Hypocrisy much?

Evangelist Franklin Graham tweeted on Wednesday an attack on Democratic White House hopeful Mayor Pete Buttigieg for being gay and being in a same-sex marriage.

Graham took Buttigieg to task for being openly gay which the evangelist said was something the South Bend mayor should “be repentant of, not something to be flaunted, praised, or politicized.”

“The Bible says marriage is between a man & a woman—not two men, not two women,” added Graham. “The core of the Christian faith is believing and following Jesus Christ, who God sent to be the Savior of the world—to save us from sin, to save us from hell, to save us from eternal damnation.”

Graham has also called Melania Trump, who worked as a (sometimes nude) model in her time before the White House, as the “classiest First Lady our country has ever had.”

Buttigieg, who is a practicing Episcopalian, has been open about his religious beliefs. At a CNN town hall on Monday, he told the crowd he’s a proud gay Christian and feels that “God doesn’t have a political party.”

Buttigieg has also called out evangelical leaders who spew anti-LGBTQ policies.

During an appearance on Ellen DeGeneres’ show, he said “I don’t have a problem with religion, I’m religious, too.”

He quickly added, “I have a problem with religion being used as justification to harm people.”

The 37-year-old has also pointed out the hypocrisy of evangelicals who have turned a blind eye to Donald Trump’s multitudinous lies and his alleged affair with porn star, Stormy Daniels.

Buttigieg isn’t the only one who sees hypocrisy in action.

The Twitterverse was quick to respond to Graham.

In a reaction to the announcement by former Vice President Joe Biden that he will run for president in 2020, Donald Trump offered a backhanded (and questionable) comment about his own, and Biden’s, current physical conditions.

“Well, I just feel like a young man. I’m so young. I can’t believe it. I’m the youngest person — I am a young vibrant man. I look at Joe, I don’t know about him.”

• Judith Light, Emmy and Tony Award winner, will be honored with the 2019 Isabelle Stevenson Award, presented to theater community members in recognition of their humanitarian contributions.

Light has worked tirelessly for decades as an advocate for LGBTQ rights; she’s been there for the fight against HIV/AIDS; and she continues to work with the Human Rights Campaign, GLAAD and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Truly a more-than-worthy recipient.

• Fourteen states currently have pending legislation that would require all presidential and vice presidential candidates to release their individual tax returns in order to appear on the ballot during the presidential or general election. The fourteen states are Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington. Donald Trump – they’re looking at you.

• One day after former Vice President Joe Biden announced he is running for president in 2020, Mayor Pete Buttigieg of South Bend, Indiana, has issued a statement saying he will no longer accept campaign donations from federal lobbyists. Additionally, he will be returning the $30,250 he had received from those who had donated.

• With over 3 million LGBTQ Americans living in rural areas, gay-friendly towns in red states (like Fayetteville, Arkansas) are in the hunt for LGBTQ travel dollars saying they welcome the gays.

• Woofy Pennsylvania state lawmaker Brian Sims started a conversation on his Instagram posting a photo of a Truvada pill, with the caption:

“PrEP/PEP: Starting this day off smart, proactive, and in control! Think this is an invite to talk about my sex life? It’s not. Think it’s an invite to shame me or anyone else? Grow up. “Stigma” is the thing our enemies want us to be stunted by. It literally kills us. It’s stupid and we control our own fate. No shame in this game. Just Pride. #PrEPsavesLIVES”

‘Avengers Endgame’ Breaks Box Office Records With Over $1.2 Billion In Opening Weekend

Marvels' Avengers Endgame isn't just chock full of super heroes on screen. The final chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was super-powered at the box office as well taking in a whopping $1.2 billion in ticket sales worldwide in its opening weekend.

Marvels’ Avengers Endgame isn’t just chock full of super heroes on screen. The final chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was super-powered at the box office as well taking in a whopping $1.2 billion in ticket sales worldwide in its opening weekend.

The film banked $60 million on its first day in U.S. theaters this past Thursday.

For the weekend, the super-hero adventure film is estimated to rake in over $350 million in the U.S., which makes it the first movie to rack up over $300 million in an opening weekend.

The movie had the biggest Friday ever – with $156.7, as well as the biggest Saturday and Sunday, as well.

The fans weren’t just hyped up for the nearly-three hour finale. Critics were bullish on the film as well, which accounts for Avengers Endgame rating a 96 on Rotten Tomatoes.

In an op-ed for the Washington Post, conservative pundit Hugh Hewitt foresees a different 2020 presidential election than most liberal voters have in mind:

The 2020 election isn’t going to be close. This will come as news to #Resistance liberals, who are certain Trump will lose, because they dislike him so much.

They still haven’t figured out that 40 percent of the country love him and at least another 10 percent are very much committed to considering the alternative in comparison to Trump, not reflexively voting against him. That decile is doing very well in this economy.

Unemployment remains incredibly low. The markets are soaring. That’s not a given for the fall of 2020, but better to be soaring than falling 18 months out.

Hewitt is correct, to a degree.

While I’m immersed in politics on a daily basis, it’s important to note most Americans are not. They experience politics in terms of jobs, income and a healthy economy.

But, Hewitt’s crystal ball isn’t always accurate.

After just a year, his MSNBC show was cancelled in July 2018.

So, there you go…

Jersey Shore’s ‘Vinny G’ Rocks The House At Chippendales

Jersey Shore star Vinny Guadagnino packed the house in Las Vegas last night as he begins his five week stint as Celebrity Guest Host with the iconic men of Chippendales at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino.

Before the show, Vinny took to the red carpet to ‘strike a pose’ with the Chipps and give a taste of what’s to come.

Vinny unfortunately suffered a severe sprained ankle earlier in the week, but he took to the stage in a surprise appearance on Thursday night to let the crowd know he wasn’t letting that get in the way of putting on a show for the audience.

“Now, you may notice I’m walking with a little ‘gangster lean’ cause I went a little too hard beating up the beat last night, but it’s ok,” he told the crowd. “I’m still here to party with you guys.”

“And, my hands still work, so you know what that means…” he added as he slowly unzipped his hoodie to reveal his “Keto Guido” abs.

Guadagnino is the latest in a line of guest stars at Chippendales which has included international super-model Tyson Beckford, America’s Next Top Model & Dancing with the Stars champ Nyle DiMarco, 90210 & Sharknado star Ian Ziering, and Joey Lawrence, among others.

Vinny Guadagnino joins the Chippendales through May 26, 2019 (Friday through Sunday performances) at Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino.

The box office reports that tickets are seriously going quick, so click your tix quick and get down to see Vinny G and the men of Chippendales.

Majority Of Americans Aren’t Feeling Impeachment

As Donald Trump’s approval rating continues to hover at a limp 39% following the release of the Mueller report, the latest ABC News/Washington Post poll shows:

• 58% of Americans believe Trump lied to the public about the issues involved in the Mueller investigation

• Only 31% of those polled believe he told the truth

• 56% of Americans don’t feel impeachment proceedings should be pursued at this time

• 37% say Congress should move forward on impeachment

Adam Schiff: The Way To Deal With Trump Is “Vote His Ass Out Of Office”

During an appearance on HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher, House Intelligence Committee chairman Adam Schiff told Bill Maher that impeaching Donald Trump may not happen but there is an eventual solution, “vote his ass out of office.”

“I’m not there yet on impeachment. I may get there, he may get me there. But here’s the awful dilemma that we face: if we don’t impeach him, that sends a message that this kind of conduct, this obstruction of justice, this kind of willing use of the help of a foreign adversary, all the lies and cover up, that this is non-impeachable.

“At the same time, if we do impeach him and he is acquitted as he would likely be acquitted, then the message is ‘those are not impeachable offenses.’

“At the end of the day Bill, there is only one way to deal with this problem, whether we impeach him or not, and that is to vote his ass out of office.”

Schiff also shared the opinion of his 90-something father, about Trump, that “if it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, he’s probably a crook.”

I agree with Schiff on all of the above.

Taylor Swift, country queen turned pop goddess, dropped the first track and video, “ME!” from her upcoming album, and it’s the most pro-LGBTQ vid from the artist yet.

Directed by Dave Meyers, the video features the Brendon Urie from Panic! At The Disco.

Opening with a slithering albino snake that explodes into colorful butterflies, the focus shifts to Taylor and Brandon arguing en Francais before the beat kicks in and we are off as Taylor dances with a rainbow of power-suited backups.
