Listen to the 1970 version, then this one. This song is about innocence and wisdom all at once. The symbolism of watching her when innocent, then wise, is breathtaking. This is how the song should be experienced.
I hate that it has taken me time to understand it. Even though I could guess that at a younger age that I would look back and miss things, I never knew how powerful the feeling might be.

Ben & Jerry’s has introduced “Schweddy Balls” ice cream, named for the beloved SNL sketch featuring Alec Baldwin, Ana Gasteyer, and Molly Shannon.
Hysterically, American Family Association wants its members to tell Ben & Jerry’s to “refrain from producing another batch with this name or any other offensive names or you will no longer be able to purchase their products.”
The AFA also knocks Ben & Jerry’s Hubby Hubby ice cream, produced to raise awareness of marriage equality, and laments “that offending customers has become an annual tradition for Ben & Jerry’s”:
Ben & Jerry’s announced their newest ice cream flavor which sounds anything but appealing. Schweddy Balls is the best they could come up with. The vulgar new flavor has turned something as innocent as ice cream into something repulsive. Not exactly what you want a child asking for at the supermarket.

Thousands have watched him address a lot of the issues gay men face as they approach owning who they are. Today was the first day – with the repeal of DADT – that we saw his face and watch him tell his father he is gay.

From ThinkProgress: American corporations are holding more cash on their balance sheets than at any time in nearly a half century, as they continue to save instead of investing or hiring workers, according to a Federal Reserve report released Friday.
According to the report, non-financial corporations held more than $2 trillion in cash at the end of June, a $88 billion jump since the end of March. Cash holdings made up 7.1 percent of all company assets, the highest level since 1963.
Meanwhile, Republican candidates continue to endorse drastic reductions in the corporate tax rate, even as American corporations pay one of the lowest effective tax rates in the developed world.
Those who favor lower corporate tax rates and bigger giveaways continue to argue more cash on hand will equal more jobs created. The Fed’s latest report, however, is more evidence that equation simply doesn’t work out.
