As we get further away from the 2012 election, some of the statements and issues of the campaign begin to fade away.
And then there’s Eric Hartsburg, who got the Romney ‘R’ logo tattooed on his face for an eBay bid of $15,000. Eric will have a constant reminder of his losing candidate probably for the rest of his life.
However, Hartsburg says he’s cool with that.
“I am college educated, and I am not an idiot,” Hartsburg, a professional wrestler, told ABC News. “Getting the tattoo was a decision that I made, and I am cool with.”
Hartsburg, 30, who got the tattoo after auctioning off the prime real estate on his face, said, “Of course I am disappointed about the election results. I wanted Romney to win, obviously, but I am proud of the voters and the record turnout in certain places. And most of all, I am proud of the effort that I made.”
Okey dokey.
Yeah.
Good luck.
An update from the American Foundation for Equal Rights regarding marriage equality SCOTUS appeals :
AFER just received word from the U.S. Supreme Court that it will discuss whether to hear AFER’s federal constitutional challenge to California’s Proposition 8 at its private Conference on Friday, November 30. The Court will also consider on that date whether it will hear one or more challenges to the so-called Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). Both the Prop. 8 case and the DOMA cases had previously been distributed for discussion at the Justices’ November 20 Conference.
The updated timeline suggests that we will likely find out if our case will be heard by the nation’s highest court, or if marriages can resume in California, by Monday, December 3. However, there is no deadline by which the Court must act, and the Justices could hold the case for consideration at a future Conference.
I’m personally getting a bit impatient with all the delays, but I’m hoping it leads to good news eventually.
Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association says hispanics do not vote Democratic because of immigration issues but rather because “they are socialists by nature” who want open borders simply so that they can bring in their families to “benefit from the plunder of the wealth of the United States.”
Team Chippendales – James Davis & Jaymes Vaughan – dropped by THE COUCH to talk about the new Chippendales 2013 calendar, the challenges of shooting the new calendar in water, synchronized swimming and their experience on “The Amazing Race.”

Director TJ Scott (Xena: Warrior Princess, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys) has turned his creative eye for sexy visuals to raise funds for breast cancer research.
Scott will soon release a coffee table photo book titled In The Tub with proceeds going to the charity. Given that Spartacus is filmed in New Zealand, a lot of his celebrity subjects are stars from the Starz show. Also appearing “in the wet” are former JAG star David James Elliott and Dallas‘ J.R. Ewing himself (Larry Hagman). Check out a few photos below.

Australian Olympic diver Matthew Mitcham has announced he will release an autobiography in December titled “Twists and Turns.”
From GayNewsNetwork:
To be released by HarperCollins in December, Mitcham’s book will also take a closer look at the anxiety and “crippling self doubt” that he has battled as a teenager and young adult, which at one point forced him to give up diving and head to the local circus so he could earn an income.
“People kept remarking on how they were surprised that a gold medal and fame hadn’t changed me,” Mitcham writes in a blurb for the book.
“I always responded, ‘Why would I change? Being me is the easiest person to be’. I was lying. It wasn’t.”…
…Twists and Turns also sees the 24-year-old Brisbane-born sports star discussing his effort at this year’s London Olympics where he failed to defend his crown after missing out on qualifying for the final. With an abdominal injury affecting his preparation for the London Games, Mitcham writes that his self-doubt and depressive tendencies returned with a vengeance.
Graeme Aitken, from the Bookshop Darlinghurst, expects the new release to do well. “Probably the only book I could compare Matthew Mitcham’s book to is the Ian Roberts biography by Paul Freeman – given that they are both high profile Australian gay sportsmen who have come out as gay. The Ian Roberts book was a phenomenal bestseller for us and is one of our top 3 bestsellers in our 30 year history,” Aitken said.
“But I would expect Matthew’s book to actually surpass sales of Ian Roberts’ book, as he has such a massive following on social media, especially on Twitter, but also an enormous international fan base.”
Pennsylvania’s first elected gay legislator is getting ready to take office in the State House in January after winning an uncontested race this past week.
Brian Sims ran against long-time Democratic incumbent Rep. Babette Josephs of the 182nd Legislative district in Philadelphia in the April primary and beat her.
Since openly gay Brian Sims ran uncontested in the general election, he is now officially Pennsylvania’s first-ever openly gay legislator:
He had no Republican opponent in Tuesday’s general election so once the first vote was cast and no write-ins were visible, Sims was considered elected by the end of the night. Sims says he’s proud to be the first LGBT legislator to be elected in Pennsylvania, but says that distinction will not define him once he is sworn in at the beginning of January. “I want to change our tax code. I also want to grapple back so much of that funding that we lost for education. So, I’ve got my work cut out for me in a whole bunch of areas,” he says.
