Colorado: Civil unions bill passes state Senate 21-14

The Colorado Senate voted 21-14 to approve SB-11, the Colorado Civil Union Act, in the second of three votes. The bill received bipartisan support from Republican Senator Ellen Roberts voting for the bill.

From Brad Clark, Executive Director of One Colorado:

“Committed gay and lesbian couples in the state have been waiting for years — 10, 20, even 40 years — to have their relationships protected. It’s well past time that these families have equal protection under the law. We applaud the bipartisan passage of civil unions in the Senate and look forward to the debate in the House.”

SB-11 provides committed LGBT couples with important legal protections such as property inheritance, family leave to care for and visit a partner in the hospital , and the right to make medical and end-of-life decisions.

After a third reading and vote on Monday, SB-11 will move to the Colorado House, where it is expected to pass.

Matthew Terry, Super Bowl Calvin Klein model, on Andy Cohen show

Kind of fascinating and cringe worthy at the same time.

The 21 year old model Matthew Terry from the Calvin Klein underwear Super Bowl ad makes an appearance on Andy Cohen’s late night Bravo show.

The point seems to be to see Matthew take his shirt off, but Jenny McCarthy looks a bit overboard about the whole thing. Plus, there’s an awkward “Gun Oil” mention by McCarthy.

But Matthew is a good sport about it all. And let’s be honest, when you’ve got a Porsche you don’t keep it in the garage…

Here’s the Super Bowl ad that brought Matthew to the world’s attention:

Valentine’s Day comes early for the hosts of ABC’s “The View” on Friday, February 8, 2013, when Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Sherri Shepherd (and special guest co-host Rick Springfield) get a special surprise visit from the Chippendales dancers from the Rio in Las Vegas.

During a Valentine’s Day cocktail segment Chippendales Jaymes Vaughan and James Davis (who took 2nd place on ‘The Amazing Race’), Jon Howes, Chaun Thomas and Sami Eskelin served a variety of romantic alcoholic beverages.

Whipped cream chaos ensued when a tray of drinks spilled on Chippendale Jon Howes resulting in host Sherri Shepherd yelling “take ‘em off, take ‘em O-F-F!”
