GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham Tells TMZ: “I’m Not Gay”

For years, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has been the target of rumors alleging the 63-year-old bachelor is secretly gay.

TMZ caught up to the Republican lawmaker at Reagan National Airport on today and asked about a recent tweet from comedian Chelsea Handler that suggested he is gay.

Handler’s tweet read, “If you’re wondering why Republicans took a sick day today, it’s probably because it’s #NationalComingOutDay. Looking at you @LindseyGrahamSC.”

Graham was neither amused nor fazed by the question.

“It’s a free country, you can say what you want to say, I don’t care,” Graham told TMZ. “I don’t think much about what she says at all. If she wants to live her life that way. It’s up to her.”

“To the extent that it matters, I’m not gay,” he quickly added. “Belittling people is not as funny as it used to be – and that’s a good thing.”

I’m not aware that being called gay is “belittling people,” but I think that comment says more about Graham than anything else.

This isn’t the first time the talk show host has gone after Graham on the gay rumor. Back in January, she was taken to task for a vulgar tweet suggesting compromising video exists of the senator.

GOP Gubernatorial Candidate Threatens To “Stomp All Over” Opponent’s Face “With Golf Spikes”

And they say civility is dead. I guess ‘they’ would be right.

Republican governor candidate Scott Wagner recently dropped a campaign ad wherein he threatens to “stomp all over” Democratic incumbent Gov. Tom Wolf’s “face with golf spikes.”

“Well, Governor Wolf, let me tell you what, between now and Nov. 6, you better put a catcher’s mask on your face, because I’m going to stomp all over your face with golf spikes. Because I’m going to win this for the state of Pennsylvania. And we’re throwing you out of office. Because I’m sick and tired of your negative ads. Governor Wolf, I am bound and determined, I am going to vote you out of office.”

Texas: Rep. Beto O’Rourke Raises A Record $38 Million For Senate Race

Democratic senatorial candidate Rep. Beto O’Rourke has raised more than three times the amount of incumbent Republican Sen. Ted Cruz for the upcoming midterm elections.

From The Texas Tribune:

U.S. Rep. Beto O’Rourke, D-El Paso, raised $38.1 million for his U.S. Senate campaign in the third quarter, a new record for the largest fundraising quarter ever in a U.S. Senate race, according to his campaign.

The haul more than tripled Republican incumbent Ted Cruz’s fundraising for the past three months, which Cruz has said was over $12 million. O’Rourke has consistently raised more than Cruz in the race, but this is the widest gap yet.

The $38.1 million is by far the largest amount raised in a quarter by a Senate candidate, surpassing Republican Rick Lazio’s record of $22 million in 2000 for his bid against Democrat Hillary Clinton in New York.

Cruz currently averages a 7 point lead in the polls according to RealClearPolitics.

And according to the most recent Texas Senate Quinnipiac poll, Cruz leads O’Rourke, 54%-45%.

Plus, Cruz’s favorability is +8 (52-44) while O’Rourke has a divided 45%-47% (-2) favorability rating.

Although, I see RCP doesn’t list this new poll from Reuters/IPSOS that shows O’Rourke leading by 2 points.

Could the tide turn at just the right time?

Melania Trump: “I’m The Most Bullied Person In The World”

In a newly released interview excerpt of First Lady Melania Trump speaking to ABC News reporter Tom Llamas (set to air on Friday), she defends her work with her ‘Be Best’ anti-bullying initiative saying she sees herself as a victim of bullying.

Yes, the wife of one of the world’s richest men and president of the United States feels she is one of the most bullied people in the world.

Are you f*cking kidding me???

In the clip, she shares, “I could say I’m the most bullied person in the world. One of them — if you really see what people [are] saying about me.”

It is stunning to read this as the world recognizes National Coming Out Day. A day when so many closeted LGBTQ people of all ages stand up to be their authentic selves even in the face of brutal physical and emotional bullying.

And the First Lady says she’s “the most bullied person in the world?” Who or how is she so powerfully bullied? Folks tweet mean things at her?

Normally I leave the family members of politicians alone, but this is really ridiculous.

I’ve seen bullying in my time. Trust me, a few mean tweets are nothing to being stalked in high school, threatened verbally on a daily basis and physically attacked in front of your classmates.

The citizens of the Twitterverse were none too taken with Ms. Trump’s woe-is-me act.

“I really thought I was going to come out in ESPN and then suddenly other people would too, other skiers and snowboarders. I really thought it was going to happen, and it hasn’t.

“It’s not easy, and it doesn’t seem to be getting easier. But I do think that more athletes need to come out, and athletes need to recognize that they have a responsibility to come out. It’s only going to do good to have more representation and visibility.”

Well, Gus, it is National Coming Out Day. Maybe we’ll see some today?

By the way, Gus recently shared that he actually got on skis for the first time since the Olympics. He playfully wondered if he’d forgotten all those Olympic silver medal skills.

Yeah, no way.

AsapSCIENCE: “What If You Stopped Masturbating?”

The super-smart guys at AsapSCIENCE just posted their newest YouTube video exploring the question, “What if you stopped masturbating?”

The guys start with the statistic that over 50% of women and more than 70% of men masturbate on a monthly basis.

Waaaait – does that mean once a month???

According to the Asap guys, a 2003 study showed if you were to stop masturbating, within a week testosterone levels can rise up to 40%. So, that’s a good thing, right?

However, the same study showed those levels drop back down to normal on day 8. So, it’s not like you keep building up testosterone.

In any case, that study spurred the creation of the ‘no fap’ movement that encourages men to stop masturbating in order to achieve better sexual performance, higher sperm quality and feelings of better motivation, self-esteem and happiness.

But is any of that true?

Some experts say improving your diet and exercise could be big factors in increased testosterone levels whether you abstain or not.

In terms of performance, researchers for one study found those who didn’t masturbate for three weeks did not improve or change any tendency for pre-mature ejaculation when compared to those who didn’t abstain.

And it appears the more often you ejaculate, the stronger your little swimmers are.

In fact, wet dreams are your body’s way of cycling out old sperm even if you are a member of Team No-Fap.

One way that pleasuring yourself less often can help you is in regard to dopamine and serotonin release.

When you masturbate, your body releases those two chemicals which stimulates the reward pathway in the brain.

But the more often you fap, the more de-sensitized your brain can become to those chemicals, so less pleasure. Taking a break from masturbation allows your brain to stay sensitive to those neurotransmitters.

That said, no one is advocating for stopping completely. In addition to feeling good, the occasional fap improves sleep, your immune system, reduces stress and pain, and even prostate cancer risks.

20 Democratic Senators Urge State Department To Reconsider Visa Denials For Diplomats’ Same-Sex Partners

Twenty Democratic Senators have sent a letter to the Secretary of State Mike Pompeo protesting the recent reversal of policy which allowed diplomats and United Nations workers to obtain visas for their same-sex partners to come to the United States.

From Politico:

In July, the U.S. mission to the United Nations informed foreign delegations that beginning Oct. 1, the State Department would no longer issue G-4 visas to same-sex partners of foreign diplomats and U.N. officials who are not legally married, reversing a policy that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had instituted.

According to the letter, 69 countries around the world criminalize same-sex relations. Additionally, in 10 countries — all U.N. member states — LGBTQ people face the death penalty for their orientation.

Under the new policy, diplomats’ and U.N. officials’ partners must produce evidence of legal marriage by Dec. 1 or leave the country within 30 days.

As I’ve previously reported, marriage may not be an option for these couples if homosexuality is outlawed or punishable by death in their home countries.

Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders also signed the letter.

Don’t bother looking for a Republican senator’s name – there aren’t any.
