Jersey Shore’s “Pauly D” signs on as resident DJ at Harrah’s Atlantic City

DJ Paul “Pauly D” DelVecchio will become a resident DJ at The Pool at Harrah’s, the swimming pool/nightclub at Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City.

His debut performance is scheduled for March 31, with another on April 28. A Harrah’s spokeswoman says the casino hopes to have him perform at least nine times during the year.

DelVecchio was voted the eighth-best DJ in America in 2010 by Vibe magazine.

The pool has become one of Atlantic City’s hottest nightspots, with celebrity appearances booked throughout the year.

Matt Bomer of “White Collar” comes out while accepting award

“White Collar” actor Matt Bomer was given the New Generation Arts and Activism Award from the Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards for his work in the fight again HIV/AIDS. In his acceptance speech, he said, “And I’d really especially like to thank my beautiful family: Simon, Kit, Walker, Henry. Thank you for teaching me what unconditional love is. You will always be my proudest accomplishment.”

The actor, who will soon guest as the brother of Darren Criss’s character on an episode of “Glee”, will also appear with George Clooney and Jesse Tyler Ferguson in the March 3 staged reading of Dustin Lance Black’s play “8″, which is adapted from transcripts of the landmark Proposition 8 trial that made same-sex marriage illegal.

Washington state: LGBT community reacts to the signing of marriage equality law

LGBT community reacts to the signing by Gov. Gregoire of Washington state’s new marriage equality law:

New Jersey: Senate approves gay marriage bill

New Jersey lawmakers in the state Senate passed a bill legalizing gay marriage for the first time Monday, despite Gov. Chris Christie’s insistence that he will veto such legislation.

The Senate’s 24-16 vote sends the bill to the Assembly, which is expected to pass it on Thursday.

Six states and Washington, D.C., allow gay marriage, and Washington state will be added to that list when Gov. Christine Gregoire signs legislation legalizing same-sex marriage Monday.

Christie, a Republican, has said he does not believe marriage laws should be changed but does support New Jersey’s civil union law, which grants gay couples the legal protections of marriage.

Christie said he wants to put a change in the definition of marriage to a public vote.  But gay rights groups oppose a referendum. They see gay marriage as a civil rights matter and argue that it should not be up to the masses to protect the rights of a minority group.

Anthony Catanzaro: fitness super-model and trainer

Last night’s guest on The Candi & Randy Show completely rocked.

Anthony Catanzaro made it clear his goals of inspiring people to improve their lives in terms of fitness, nutrition and personal goals.

I don’t post all of our shows on The Randy Report, but I was really impressed by his knowledge and commitment to fitness and life.

Coroner: Whitney died from overdose of prescription drugs and alcohol

From TMZ: Whitney Houston’s family was told by L.A. County Coroner officials the singer did not die from drowning, but rather from what appears to be a combination of Xanax and other prescription drugs mixed with alcohol – this according to family source

Apparently the Coroner’s officials informed the family there was not enough water in Whitney’s lungs to lead to the conclusion that she drowned.

Sources say the family was told Whitney may well have died before her head became submerged.

And family sources say it was actually Whitney’s aunt, Mary Jones, who discovered Whitney’s body in the bathtub. Mary had laid out Whitney’s dress for the evening on the bed and then left for about a half hour. When Whitney didn’t come out of the bathroom, Mary entered, pulled Whitney out of the tub and began administering CPR.

Whitney’s mom has arranged to have the singer’s body flown back to Atlanta, as early as tomorrow. The family was told the Coroner has no problem releasing the body because there is no evidence of foul play — and unless cops put a hold on the body, it can be flown back East.

Very, very sad.
