Made it to Hollywood… This weekend, my wife tested ➕ for COVID. She’s doing fine. Kids & I have tested ➖, but out of caution, I won’t be going to the Oscars tomorrow night. Cheering for my TickTickBoom & Encanto families w my own family, alongside all of you, ALL of you. -LMM

The composer is nominated for Best Original Song for penning “Dos Oruguitas” for Disney’s Encanto. He also directed tick, tick…BOOM! for which scored nominations for leading man Andrew Garfield for Best Actor and Myron Kerstein & Andrew Weisblum for Film Editing. Miranda is just an Oscar short of achieving EGOT status – the show business quad-fecta of winning an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony award. Miranda would be the third youngest artist in history to score the EGOT. Plus, Twitter reminds us that Miranda would also join that rarified club of the PEGOT – which includes having won a Pulitzer Prize.
Reminder that if Lin-Manuel Miranda gets an Oscar this year (which he deserves) he will not only be in the EGOT club but with the Pulitzer will have the even rarer PEGOT achievement, one only Richard Rogers and Marvin Hamlish have managed thus far.
