OnlyFans reversed its decision to ban porn and sexually explicit content on its platform Wednesday after days of backlash from sex workers whose content has been key to the company’s growth. The company announced the news via Twitter thanking its content creators for “making your voices heard.” “Thank you to everyone for making your voices heard. We have secured assurances necessary to support our diverse creator community and have suspended the planned October 1 policy change. OnlyFans stands for inclusion and we will continue to provide a home for all creators.” https://twitter.com/OnlyFans/status/1430499277302816773 The company had announced it would ban sexually explicit content on its platform beginning October 1, 2021. The new policy would in effect de-platform hundreds of sex workers whose OnlyFans accounts basically led to the company’s financial success.

OnlyFans saw revenues rise to $2 billion in 2020 and are on track to top $4 billion in 2021, according to Forbes.
