Saturday Pool Tunes: Richard Marx “Endless Summer Nights”

“Endless Summer Nights,” written and performed by Grammy Award winner Richard Marx was released in January 1988 as the third single from his triple Platinum debut album, Richard Marx.

“Endless Summer Nights” reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100, where it stayed for two weeks, just behind Michael Jackson’s “Man In The Mirror.”

In the liner notes of his 1997 Greatest Hits album, Marx wrote of the song:

“Aside from replacing synthesized bass with the great Nathan East, this recording is the demo that every record company in the business rejected in 1985 and 1986.”

His 4th single, “Hold On to the Nights,” would become Marx’s first #1 pop single. My hubby Michael has known Richard for years. Back in 2017, Richard did a residency at the Las Vegas Flamingo and Michael handled PR duties for the Grammy winner. Super-cool guy and sings his ass off.  #GoodTimes
