• LGBTQ Nation: Saline County, Arkansas has agreed to pay $275,000 to Patty Hector, the county library’s former executive director, to settle her lawsuit alleging county officials violated her free speech rights by firing her in October 2023.
Hector was terminated after publicly opposing a resolution to remove LGBTQ books from the children’s section of the Saline County Library.

• Queerty: A story I never knew – Anselmo Feleppa, the man who inspired George Michael’s 1996 hit song, “Jesus To A Child,” would have turned 70 last month. He died March 26, 1993, aged 36, from HIV-related health complications.
• NPR: The House voted 370-48 approving a short-term funding bill keeping the federal government funded at current levels until December 11. This takes the biggest legislative item off the to-do list for Congress ahead of the November midterm elections.
• Axios: A whistleblower is alleging that the U.S. Postal Service defied court orders while rushing to build a new ballot system that could reject tens of thousands of ballots in a bulk-mailing batch if “even one bar code on one single ballot” failed to properly scan.

• Fox News: A new Reuters/Ipsos poll found 63% of Americans surveyed said they opposed renaming Lake Ontario to Lake America, compared to 14% in favor.
• Truth Social: Donald Trump announced the U.S. is currently launching military strikes on Iran, and added “the biggest attack of them all” is “waiting in the wings.” The Donald began his war with Iran in February and said at the time it would only last 4-5 weeks.
