Newsmax Host Claims MN Senate Candidate Is ‘Not An Indian’

Newsmax host Greg Kelly used his air time to claim Minnesota Democratic Senate candidate and current Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan isn’t really of Native American descent.

Ahem, Flanagan is a member of the Chippewa White Earth Nation and was a member of the Minnesota House Native American Caucus.

Earlier in the segment, Kelly claims the reason transgender people “decide” to be trans is to gain some kind of “protected status.” What a piece of work…

Here’s the text of Kelly’s racist remarks via Media Matters (starting around 3:20 mark):

“She passes herself off as an Indian — I have my doubts. Is this Pocahontas 2? Sacagawea? Alright. Who is this person? This is Peggy Flanagan. She was the, or is the lieutenant governor up there in Minnesota. She is now the Democrat nominee to be the next U.S. senator.

“So this is a person who identifies as a Chippewa Indian, alright? But it’s the same person I saw win last night, the primary, Peggy. Peggy is not an Indian, I don’t care what they say, right? This is a — I mean, you know what it reminds me of a little bit? Pocahontas, right? Pocahontas 2.

“I think the name for, what’s her name again? Peggy? Peggy. Sacagawea, can we call her Sacagawea? I don’t know, maybe she’s got 10%, 2%, 5%, it really shouldn’t matter. And all of the advantages you get on certain applications. I wonder, I wonder, I wonder.”

This is the same guy who declared in 2021 that President Joe Biden’s 12-year-old German Shepard, Champ, wasn’t “presidential.”
